Despite being cancelled before its time, the franchise lives on in conventions each month and any time we see Ben Browder or Claudia Black, it’s hard to not recall the science fiction TV series.
Created by Rockne S. O’Bannon and co-produced by Jim Henson Productions, throughout the expanse of the Farscape series, we followed John Crichton (Browder) after getting sucked through a wormhole and ejected into a universe that’s not his, and followed him in his quest to find a way to return home.
All the while, he finds himself taken in, aboard the living ship called Moya and its crew. And while he tries to find a way home, we also watch Crichton’s relationship ever so slowly develop with former Peacekeeper Aeryn Sun (Black).

DVD Review: Imagine It is a documentary on bringing together science, engineering and education. It’s about creating a better life for the future of our kids. And by doing so by engaging and getting kids interested in the sciences.
The primary message that I took away from the DVD is that change is coming to our planet, and what can be done by engaging change rather than letting it happen. In other words, controlling it. Taking control is what will engage the future of our species and Imagine It looks at how to engage the younger generation in the premise of science and engineering aspects of life. Things that can help control our planet’s future.
Once that premise got in my head, that’s how I saw this documentary from that point on. So I sort of apologize ahead of time for that bias.
Imagine It is an informative and quick DVD that can be an incredible interactive experience, a conversation starter, that a family can watch together. The conversation has to start somewhere, right?
But more importantly, aside from my focus on the planet, the important thing to take away from this DVD is addressing the global challenge of how we can bring science to the young masses.
The DVD had me wondering… Leaving a family legacy is one thing, but leaving a planet’s legacy for those future legacies seems to make a lot of sense. Doesn’t it? Otherwise, what’s the point?

UPDATE: The Winner of ‘The Captains’ was Ronald O. I’ll be in touch! Thanks for coming by!
- The Captains is a documentary movie written, directed and narrated by William Shatner, the Captain Kirk from the 1960′s Star Trek series. The documentary involves William Shatner locating and interviewing the various actors that have played the captains in the various Star Trek franchise TV shows or movies.
The personalities we spend the most time with in The Captains are Sir Patrick Stewart (Star Trek: The Next Generation), Avery Brooks (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Kate Mulgrew (Star Trek: Voyager), Scott Bakula (Star Trek: Enterprise) & Chris Pine (The new James Kirk in J.J. Abrams‘ Star Trek movie.)
At the front half of the documentary, the introductory or opening interviews are quick and to the point, as they bounce around from one to the other. They’re quick intros where Shatner asks the actor how they got involved in acting. It gives the viewer a quick feel for how each session will be like.
During the interviews, we don’t just get to become familiar with the different actors, we also get insights from William Shatner himself as he takes moments to interject his own experiences from his life, both Star Trek and non Star Trek related in either the interviews or spots between the interviews.

I just caught a TV ad while watching the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race in Richmond race on ESPN. My wife and I were watching as they showed various scenes of different groups of people headed out on the road for vacations. They called the Dodge Journey the “search engine for the real world.” And ended the ad with the premise that if you find one, you get one for free.

That caught my attention.
Then during the television commercial, we saw a few obvious landmarks that were clearly focused on, but not realizing what it was.
Then as the ad comes to a close, we see two people shut the doors and the announcer saying that the Dodge Journey is out there. “Then we left it here. Literally.“ Really, it’s out there and all you have to do is follow the clues and find the Dodge Journey and it’s yours.
Yea, suddenly my entire household was all ears. Me, my wife, the dog, the cats… we all wanted this.
We were like, well heck, that’s cool. But how the heck to do we figure this out if we weren’t really paying attention the first time.
I headed out to the web to figure this out.

Hawaii Five-0 Contest
Bruce here… Here’s a quick note about a contest that you can enter that’s associated with Hawaii Five-0:

CBS has a web page pushing a contest where five contest winners will go to Hawaii as Social Ambassadors.
That that means is CBS sends you to Hawaii for the Hawaii Five-0 premiere party, a set visit, an advanced copy of the first season of the show, $500 spending cash and of course, much more! Whatever much more means.
Sounds cool and they say you will get to share your experience with your followers and friends. I presume that means you will be able to go nuts Tweeting and Facebook Google +’ing your time there.

On Super Sunday, during Super Bowl XLV, one of the TV ads will be the movie trailer for Twentieth Century Fox’s animated movie Rio. The movie trailer for Rio will set a piece of history by being the first Super Bowl ad to have an embedded code in it.
What embedded code you ask?
The Rio 30-second trailer will have a single frame with a special code that will direct the viewers that catch that code to a special level in the Angry Birds game. That special level will then lead you to a sweepstakes set up for Rio.
The winner of that sweepstakes will attend the world premiere… in Rio de Janeiro on March 22nd!
After the Super Bowl, the movie trailer/spot will be available on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/officialriomovie.
