Joss Whedon/The Avengers Movie News:

Despite the fervent desire of all to see Ant-Man in the Joss Whedon directed Marvel movie, The Avengers, Joss keeps needing to reiterate that there will be no Ant-Man in the movie.

In fact one of the quotes to date says

“You know, I’m really not allowed to say what happens in the movie, but I can say that it’s not true. Ant-Man is NOT in the movie.”

As we all know, there was much-to-do about nothing concerning both Hank Pym, who, via his utilities, could become either Ant-Man, Giant-Man, Goliath, etc., etc.  The character has more identity issues than this site!

But Ant-Man had more than one person behind the guise.  Aside from Hank Pym, Scott Lang and Eric O’Grady also donned the mantle of Ant-Man through the years.

If we take Whedon at his word, then this is a moot point.  But if we think about the history of Ant-Man, there might be two possibilities, if they are thinking about sneaking in Ant-Man into the movie… as either some future-flash look in closing credits or possibly a super-quick cameo by the character, aka, Dr. Hank Pym, in a scene.  Or heck even a quick appearance of O’Grady.  O’Grady was a SHIELD agent who found the suit in storage at SHIELD headquarters.

If you have HBO and you’re a fan of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, HBO premiered the movie last Saturday night.  Scott Pilgrim vs. the World comes from Edgar Wright (Grindhouse, Hot Fuzz) who directed, wrote and produced this project that stars Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead with appearances by the likes of Brandon Routh, Chris Evans (Captain America), Clifton Collins Jr. (Boondock Saints),  & Thomas Jane.

The premise of the story is that Scott Pilgrim (Cera) meets this pretty young lady named Ramona Flowers (Winstead).  But for him to be able to continue to date her, he is forced to confront and defeat her 7 evil ex’s.  Not ex-boyfriends, ex’s.  If you see the movie, you’ll understand.
