PAN AMERICAN BANK, ACTOR/ACTIVIST EDWARD JAMES OLMOS TO HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE TO ANNOUNCE THE LARGEST GATHERING OF LATINO AUTHORS IN U.S. HISTORY

What:

Pan American Bank and actor/community activist Edward James Olmos will stage a press conference to announce the largest gathering of Latino authors in U.S. history at the 13th Annual Latino Book & Family Festival, which will be held October 9th and 10th at California State University, Los Angeles at Greenlee Plaza. The family-friendly event will feature over 120 Latino authors and close to 50 author panels, a folklórico dance competition, children’s activities, arts & crafts, and more.

When:

Thursday, September 23, 2010 – 11:00 a.m.

Where:

Pan American Bank lobby, 3626 East First Street, Los Angeles, CA 90063 – parking in rear.

Edward James Olmos has already, in my mind, botched his authenticity with his vision of the BSG world with the television movie Battlestar Galactica, The Plan.  If you call splicing together scenes from a 4-year TV series and adding a few more scenes in between as a directorial effort a good job, then you should be fine with this new idea of his.

Olmos is working on a Battlestar Galactica comic book sequel.  At least that’s his hopes:

“I’m going to go there. I’m going to go there in a graphic novel,” he said. “Pretty soon I hope. I don’t know. It just depends on whether people can get behind it and understand it for what it is. I think people will.”
