The following are some Cinema Static thoughts or opinions on The Avengers; the early sales of The Dark Knight Rises movie tickets and and taking 21 Jump Street down the comedic route… what???
Read on gang, see what I have to say… =
The Avengers

If you have not heard, it seems like The Avengers movie is going to be presented to the movie-goer from the perspective of Steve Rogers, aka, Captain America.
Which might make sense, since in the comics, Captain America led the Avengers.
It will be interesting as Joss Whedon has brought ensembles to the fans before and how he’s choosing to bring the narrative to the movie-goer now.
I’m looking forward to The Avengers.

The Dark Knight Rises

Did you know that some screenings of The Dark Knight Rises have already sold out? Yep… the movie doesn’t come out until July, but Fandango has been selling tickets to the movie already. This has culminated in the sell-outs of midnight screenings of The Dark Knight Rises in New York and Los Angeles.
Boo… if you life in LA or NY.

What’s Emilie Ullerup been up to these days? I came across a few things over the last week and thought I’d share… check it out:
In case you’ve been watching the slowly fading Syfy channel TV show, Sanctuary, I’m wondering if you were as confused as I was?
First up, was the “special episode” they aired last Tuesday. For some silly reason, I thought it was going to a new episode in addition to what was coming out in their usual Friday time slot. It wasn’t. The Sanctuary episode aired on Tuesday and then again on Friday.
So if you’re worried that you missed one of them, but caught the other, don’t fret. You missed nothing.
-
But more importantly, if you did see the episode, then you caught that flashback scene where fans got a quick glimpse of Emilie Ullerup, where Adam is mind-fraking* with Helen, showing her visuals while she was trapped in a virtual world.
My eyebrows went up, wondering what was up there. Well, it’s a flashback and was not a new scene.

“== a different kind of ghost story ==
Jean Kaneko just quit her coveted job as an investment banker on Wall Street. After a soul-searching journey traveling around the world, she retreats to an empty vacation home owned by a friend’s rich family. She unexpectedly finds herself sharing the place with some former occupants – a cynical college professor, his bitter sister married to a devoted husband, a disgruntled cab driver and a washed-up drifter – all of whom are not even supposed to be there, because they’re actually dead. As Jean reluctantly confronts these souls as tormented as herself, they inevitably end up in an entangled mass of secrets and lies…
Set primarily in one location, this imaginative drama roams in and out of the lives of lost souls, weaving reality with the other side. A ghost story that meditates on the precious gems along with the missed opportunities in this precarious thing we know as life.”

Word on the street is that it is post production time for Transformers 3, (Transformers Dark of the Moon). Principal shooting has come to an end and now it is time to start adding the magic of CGI and inserting Transformers into the story. It’s been fun watching the details of the film shoots and now I’m betting we’ll start seeing teaser and preview trailers pretty soon to keep our appetites whet.

There’s a rumor that it’s possible that Christopher Nolan may be shooting The Dark Knight Rises completely in IMAX. That rumor is boosted by the rumor that IMAX has finally made a camera small enough that you don’t need a jeep or helicopter to manhadle it!
Sweet. Of course that’s a double rumor report so we’ll have to wait and see.
Almost Update: An update is when you’ve gone to “print” and corrected the info. In this case, I found out that they won’t be shooting the entire film in IMAX… just as much as they can.

Red: Werewolf Hunter TV Movie Review
-
The Syfy Channel Original Movie, Red: Werewolf Hunter, starred Felicia Day, who plays Virginia and Kavan Smith who plays her boyfriend. She’s bringing him home to meet her family and their day jobs see them as both FBI agents. Red, which is Virginia’s nickname, wants to tell him about her family business, that of being werewolf hunters, but the family says it must be a family decision to tell an outsider. And yes, she’s a descendant of Little Red Riding Hood and this origins story is a wee bit different than the classic story we all know.

Her family is played by Stephen McHattie, David Reale, and Greg Bryk.
Circumstances force their hand and they need to tell Nathan. A bit later on, Nathan finds himself “bitten,” even though it was not a full moon. Apparently they’ve found a way to turn at will. Nathan wasn’t digesting the werewolf info too well until he had his own encounter. Now he believes, but too late.
I like that werewolves burn up when they die… very vampire-like
