This movie review is about Hanna, starring Saoirse Ronan (The Way Back, The Lovely Bones) and directed by Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride & Prejudice).
In a word, Hanna was not as action packed as I expected it to be but delivered a rather interesting story none the less.
Disclaimer: I don’t pretend to be the artistic minded or high-browed movie-goer. I go to the movies (usually at the Redwood Century 21 movie complex) to be entertained and I’m an everyday kind of guy. With that said, let’s get on with a real-world movie review perspective…

Hanna opens with Hanna (Ronan) hunting and making a kill in the wintery land of snow. Her father, Erik (Eric Bana), sneaks up on her and tells her she’s dead. It’s part of her training. But she’s itching to leave, to apparently pull off her assignment. I’m not sure why she’s itching to leave, but her dad does leave it up to her when she wants to leave.
When she does leave, she’s headed out to go kill CIA agent named Marissa, played by Cate Blanchett, her dad’s ex-handler.
Erik digs up a signal box and tells her when she’s ready, to activate it and they will come. They (The CIA) do show up and capture Hanna. She asks to see Marissa. They send in a fake Marissa and the “chase” is on.
