The season premiere of Touch aired on Fox and to be honest, I found myself pleasantly surprised and entertained…

Fox’s Touch, starring Kiefer Sutherland and David Mazouz, premiered tonight on Fox. It’s about a father and his autistic, mute son. That is, until dad learns that his son in reality, is in touch with life like no other human is, and can predict events and hence, prevent bad things from happening.
The series is from Heroes showrunner Tim Kring. But unlike Heroes, there’s only one special person and many character stories in this series premiere of Touch. Danny Glover was also part of the cast.
Though Touch never really caught my attention through the months of marketing up to tonight, It was, I felt, a fortuitous bit of timing that nothing else was on TV so I tuned in.
I’m glad I did.

I was doing a little research the other day and something caught my eye that led me to think that maybe Terra Nova is getting canceled. That, and by virtue of some of that same research, I learned a little bit about a new HBO series called To Appomattox.
"Stephen, is that our new show over there? I don't know, let's go look Jason!"
-
The last I saw, the jury is still out on whether Fox’s Terra Nova, the sci-fi series with Steven Spielberg‘s name attached, is going to get a second season or not.
Fox has hem-hawed about renewals for Terra Nova, House & Fringe. But a Fox exec noted that Terra Nova “was hunting for itself creatively through the season.” and reports say that the show didn’t meet audience expectations, with its TV ratings putting it outside the coveted range of shows for the network.
-
Terra Nova first had a very long production delay because of some creative issues with the production effects, or so they said. And then the show started off incredibly predictable and thus not that engaging. Yet as the show developed, so too did the story and I was watching on Twitter where it did start to engage some fans. But the engagement may have taken too long to take hold!
And another reason we haven’t heard about any renewal is that I think Fox is waiting to see who Alcatraz and Touch will do. If these two shows become ratings hits, I think Terra Nova is doomed.
But then again, there’s other writing on the wall that isn’t being spoken of on other websites…

I think Terra Nova Is Getting Canceled!

2011-2012 Fall TV Schedule List

I pulled together multiple lists of the 2011 – 2012 Fall TV Season. It’s huge. (And updated Dec 27 with the 2012 series premiere, and season return dates)
First, we chat about what we’re anticipating for the upcoming TV season as far as the new shows are concerned. I then slap you right into a few lists. They’re effectively all the same, a list of the 2011-2012 Fall TV season, but each list is sorted differently. One list is sorted alphabetically by TV show. Another list is sorted by premiere date. A third list is the same thing, just put out there in a less crowded fashion and sorted by network.
So take your pick of how you want to look at these lists and I hope this helps!!! And if this really helps out, please feel free to share this with your friends, family, co-workers (yea, I know you’re surfin’ from work) & peers! Thanks and have a great day!
(Obviously any schedule is subject to change, or delusional typing errors. Let me know if have any questions.! -Bruce)

Most Anticipated New TV Series for the 2011-2012 TV Season?
So what’s up with the new 2011 / 2012 TV Fall season? What new shows is this website curious or interested about?
From what I’m seeing the general web-surfing public is super curious about the premieres of Terra Nova, Ringer, Prime Suspect, & Person of Interest. (Updated 12/27: Well, they mostly turned out OK!)

The man who was responsible for uploading that unfinished copy of X-Men Origins: Wolverine on the eve of April Fools Day more than a year ago was sentenced today (12/19/11) to a year in federal prison for that simple act that was a function of movie piracy.
This criminal sentence finally puts movie piracy on the books that stealing movies from the internet is, well, stealing.
It was further exemplified that “The Justice Department will pursue and prosecute persons who seek to steal intellectual property…”
What I find interesting is the wording used to represent the deed that took place…
It was noted that Fox had the illegal upload removed from Megaupload within one day of it being uploaded. But during that day, the stolen content went rather viral, and as the legal system called it, his upload resulted in millions of infringements. Infringements.
They’re not mincing words now that they have a conviction under their belts. And this could spell all kinds of legal problems for some folks that are involved in movie piracy, no matter what part of the chain they’re in!

Deadline is reporting that Fox has bought into a pilot for a TV Series titled The Punisher, a character from the Marvel comics universe, for those who didn’t know.
The Punisher is being heralded by Ed Bernero, who used to be the showrunner for Criminal Minds.
“The Punisher is described as an hour-long procedural with a new take.”
“Frank Castle, a rising star detective with the New York Police Department who moonlights as the vigilante Punisher, seeking justice for those the system has failed.”
The Punisher has been done before for the silver screen… numerous times. Dolph Lundgren played the titular character in 1989, Thomas Jane in 2004, Ray Stevenson in 2008.
There are also tentative plans for a 2014 movie… if that pans out.
The description provided over at Deadline is a bit different than the classic back-story of the Marvel character. Frank Castle, originally, does rogue when his family is killed. He was a vigilante who employed brutal methods to achieve his goals. (Kind of like The Boondock Saints!)

The latest TV news for TV Show renewals has been a bit busy over the last week as news on the street was circulating with threatening titles that looked like The Simpsons was possibly getting canceled, or huge pay cuts were on the horizon for the popular animated Fox TV show.
First up: The Simpsons has been renewed for two more years, giving them a 24th and 25th season. This new contract will also include their 500th episode.
- THE SIMSPONS products on Amazon -
The news started up as we all heard about the woes between the cast of The Simpsons and Fox. Basically, Fox ran up against the financial wall and had to make some decisions.
Then we heard about the ultimatum Fox delivered about cutting salaries.
Rumors of the renewal included the idea that the cast may have taken a potential 45% pay cut and get no residuals. Nothing has been confirmed but being that the cast already had back-end profit deals, not taking a new deal isn’t huge.
-
Admittedly, taking a pay cut is a refreshing thing to see, and it’s a confusing… conundrum.

TV news :: Season 8 of House, starring Hugh Laurie, is returning to Fox on October 3rd, 2011.
The preview clip below may have spoilers, but what it does not have, is any info on who the new Dean of Medicine will be as season 8 starts. Remember, Cuddy is out. Gone from House. Poof!
The only info I have is that it will be someone we’ve already met. No completely new blood. Now whether that’s an established character or one we’ve seen before, I don’t know.
After the video is the list of who the new Dean will be coming from…

TV news – 2011/2012 Fall TV Season:
Coming up this September is the newest 2011/2012 Fall TV Season. There are some old and new offerings coming at us from the various networks.

As always, during the venue we tend to enjoy, I like to remind everyone that some of our favorites will not last forever, (Ask fans where Comcast canceled Eureka) because TV is not cheap! Advertisers spent $10 billion on this upcoming season alone.
The new season, starting in September, brings us new episodes from NCIS, Hawaii Five-0, Criminal Minds, the CSI‘s, House, Fringe, The Biggest Loser, The Vampire Diaries, Nikita and of course, Supernatural.
With that said, let’s check out what is slated for the 2011/2012 Fall season, with the networks being shown in alphabetical order, after the break:

Ted Danson is replacing Laurence Fishburne on CBS’s hit crime-drama, CSI.
Danson’s character is a graveyard shift supervisor who steps up to the role as the team is still reeling from the events between Langsom and serial killer Nate Haskell.
If you’re thinking Ted Danson? The funny guy from Cheers??? Think again. I was a huge fan of the Glenn Close starrer Damages. He’s spent a season being the “bad guy” over there and he was impressive in that dramatic role.
I don’t expect as much in this role as he had in Damages, but I’m not worried at all about his stepping up into the CSI cast-cadre. Yea, Damages was that good.
And don’t forget, we’ll also be seeing the departure of Marg Helgenberger, if she hasn’t changed her mind about leaving the show. I expect her departure sometime in the first few episodes of the 12th season of CSI.

Jewel Staite lands a guest appearance on the CW’s hit demon-hunting drama, Supernatural!
She’ll be appearing in the third episode of the upcoming 7th season of Supernatural and will be playing one of Sam’s childhood friends. Thanks to Buddy TV for the TV news tidbit.
