At the end of the season premiere of Game of Thrones on HBO, we saw a note saying,
“In memory of Martin Kenzie, BSC”
Martin Kenzie was the cinematographer for multiple episodes of Game Of Thrones from 2012. He passed away in July of 2012 after what was called a quick battle with cancer. The letters BSC means British Society of Cinematographers.
His working on HBO’s GoT was just one of many popular series or movies that he worked on.
On TV, he worked on Dinotopia, Keen Eddie and Rome. But his true work came from the silver screen.
In his early days, he worked as assistant camera, camera operator or other various positions on movies such as Star Wars: Episode V & VI, The Shining, Aliens, Black Hawk Down and such.
Other work on his resume included Clash of the Titans, The King’s Speech, Hanna and such, as director of the second unit of photography. He seems to have a storied career of wonderful movies.
He has 71 movie titles on his resume.
