WonderCon Changes Cities
First up, in case you had not heard the news/update, is that WonderCon has moved! Zoinks! It used to take place in San Francisco and did so up until this last event in the beginning of this year. This last event was their best ever attended WonderCon venue in Frisco, where it’s been held for the last 6 years, but now, it’s time to move onward. I’ve never felt crowded in at WonderCon, but now they’re headed to Anaheim, to the largest convention center on the West Coast. These are my old stomping grounds which is pretty exciting for me!
Next year, WonderCon will he held at the ANAHEIM CONVENTION CENTER on March 16th to 18th, 2012. Sweet, I have an entire lifetime of memories down there and I know exactly where I’m headed to eat! HA! On top of that, the latest news is that J. Michael Straczynski was just added to their guest list.
With the event moving to Anaheim, if there’s one that that location will offer, is food and lots of it. Up in San Francsico, there wasn’t a lot for everyone to enjoy. Locals know where to go and there was a Buca di Beppo, right (almost) next door. They became very familiar with me there for that weekend!
So I guess we’ll all now meet up in Anaheim! Right next to Disney Land!

Fringe Alternate DC Comics - Justice League Mock Cover
A while back the LA Times blog, Hero Complex, tossed up an article on how the Justice League will be getting an origins story. An all new origins story. For some, that will set a burr in their craw. And others, that will probably sound fine. In my mind, my instant reaction was that this is probably coming about to help create background for the upcoming Justice League movie.
(ABOUT THE ABOVE COVER… Before you freak out, the above Fringe alternate Justice League cover art was a Geoff Johns idea where they injected some wild alternate DC comic titles as art-work in a scene from the alternate universe in the Fox network series, Fringe. It was an awesome idea and collection.)

All joking aside, it’s not just the Justice League that we’ll be getting new origin material on. We’re also seeing a new Superman story with the relaunch of Action Comics No. 1, coming up in September, as they’re looking to recreate Superman for the 21st century.
They’re calling this a creative reboot, or creative opportunity as they hope to retain old fans and snag new fans/readers in the process. Below is one of the new looks we might be seeing of the reimagined Kryptonian in Action Comics, that was shared with the world from Hero Complex:

But back to one of the points that was made is that there has never been an origins of the Justice League. This will be an opportunity to see how they all came together and we will get to see the characters initial impressions of each other. They’re looking to develop each person, as, well, a person and not a persona of their powers.
