New Movies & TV Shows on DVD and Blu-ray

-New DVD and Blu-ray releases coming out this week on September 13th include adventures in a galaxy far, far away (Star Wars) on Blu-ray; Asgardian gods with Chris Hemsworth as Thor; and a few TV shows hitting the new DVD release list like the most excellent Starz TV series Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, Glee, Supernatural, Grey’s Anatomy and a bunch more of TV shows!

(R.I.P. Andy Whitfield; 1974-2011)

Plus I had just received some news a the entire Farscape series coming to Blu-ray.  No, Farscape is not coming out this week, but at a later date.  But I thought it’s cool news for fans of the series I thought I’d share!

Other Blu-ray news includes the entire Star Wars saga… well, at least what movies have been released to date, has come out in a whopping big Blu-ray release, due out September 16th.  I have press release details for that down at the bottom of this article, if you need to weigh out your options and are considering picking up this new packaging product, you can check out those details below.

There are a lot of first time to Blu-ray [Blu-ray] movie titles vs. new movies just hitting the market.

With that said, let’s see what’s coming out this week and you can set and plot what you might be interested in either ordering online or heading out to pick up from your local retail store:

We have funny bomber movies, the dreadful dodging of death and some musical inclinations. After the list of new movies, I also have a production status list of some select movies.  Check it out:

-

30 Minutes or Less

Jesse Eisenberg & Danny McBride star in this comedy about “Two fledgling criminals kidnap a pizza delivery guy, strap a bomb to his chest, and inform him that he has mere hours to rob a bank or else!

It’s directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) and is produced by Media Rights Capital and distributed by Columbia Pictures.

Final Destination 5

Nicholas D’Agosto, Emma Bell, Miles Fisher, Ellen Wroe… oh, who cares. They’re all going to die! In this rendition of the franchise, “Survivors of a suspension-bridge collapse learn there’s no way you can cheat Death.

It’s directed by Steven Quale (Avatar [2nd unit], Aliens of the Deep) in a movie produced by New Line Cinema and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.  (Eww, eye surgery already creeps me out.)

"Comic Con" News logo

The last schedule released by Comic Con for the 2011 San Diego Comic Con came out, focusing on Sunday, July 24th.

Looking over the schedule, there’s a Browncoats panel, a focus panel with Nathan Fillion, Supernatural, Doctor Who, Sons of Anarchy, and Merlin are on the schedule for Sunday, the 24th of July.

But what I’m wondering about is Ballroom 20?  What’s up with that?

Below, I break down Hall H and then other selected events that are taking place on Sunday at the 2011 San Diego Comic Con event.  These events are picked from the entire schedule that was put out.  There will probably be changes and such so you need to head on over to the website to see all the details or updates!

Ballroom 20

Ballroom 20 is oddly not on the schedule for Sunday.  I find it interesting, considering there are some big-name projects not on the schedule and Ballroom 20 is absent from Sunday.  Hmm

Fox NetworkFox’s 2011 / 2012 fall TV season has some competitive shows in the line-up.  That despite they’re cancelling one of my favorite shows on me, Human Target.  But that’s how the cookie tends to crumble.  Sometimes the crumbs fall in the milk, sometimes the dog gets them off the floor!  Onward.

The 2011 /2012 TV season for Fox has some staples in the line-up like House, Glee, Bones, Fringe, American Idol & their venerable Sunday night fare of animation!  But there are also some new shows coming at us… like Terra Nova, Alcatraz & The Finder.

Check out the list for the upcoming 2011 fall TV season:
