The finale of the Syfy channel supernatural drama adaptation of Being Human closed out what I would consider to be a confusing yet successful first season with their season finale. In the finale, titled “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Me Killing You,” we had confrontations and truth come to be.
SPOILERS ARE ABOUND if you haven’t seen the Being Human episode on the Syfy channel yet…

When the Syfy Channel launched an American version of Being Human, I was confused considering the original was still on. I was confused even further when they seemed to replicate the outline of the original series’ story.
My confusion stopped when I watched the show. It has to be one of the best dramas on the Syfy Channel, and if it’s not, then it will be.
Being Human has averaged around 1.8 million viewers per episode and has been marked as the Syfy channel’s “most successful winter season scripted series in six years.” It’s also the most female viewer skewed show for the network, ever, with 53% of the audience being women.
Being Human stars Sam Witwer, Meaghan Rath, Sam Huntington and Mark Pellegrino and is about three roommates, vampire Aidan (Witwer), ghost Sally (Rath) and werewolf Josh (Huntington), eeking out as normal a life as they can, despite the obvious.
I’d love to give showrunners all the credit for the success, that being:
“Executive Producers are Michael Prupas (The Kennedys, Pillars of the Earth), Jeremy Carver (Supernatural) and Anna Fricke (Men in Trees, Everwood) who are both writers/showrunners, and Rob Pursey and Toby Whithouse. Irene Litinsky is series Producer and Adam Kane (The Mentalist, Heroes) is Co-Executive Producer.”
But I guess I can. What they’ve been doing is taking the original outline then padding script around that basis. If you’ve seen the original that airs on BBC America on Saturday nights, then you’ll be spoiled by what’s coming with Syfy channel’s version.
