Syfy channel Logo‘Tis the season.  At least on Syfy, ’tis the season to have Christmas episodes of Eureka, Warehouse 13, Haven and some adult Scooby Doo time with Ghost Hunters.  And if that’s not enough, the Syfy channel has a few TV marathons in store for you… including their annual Twilight Zone marathon!  (Sigh, remember the days when The Twilight Zone marathons were the norm for most holiday weekends?)

This year though, Syfy is having a viewers vote contest for fans, who can vote for what their favorite Twilight Zone episodes!

Check it all out below!

-

This year the Syfy channel is starting off it’s Christmas holiday season with the miniseries / Peter Pan prequel, NeverlandNeverland will be airing on December 4th and 5th.

On December 6th, we will have Christmas/holiday episodes of the ill-fated Eureka*, Warehouse 13 and Haven.

On December 7th, they’re hunting more ghosts, on Ghost Hunters.

On December 10th…  it’s the snow globe from hell, in Snowmageddon!

On Christmas day itself, if you’re of the mind to, there will be TV marathons of

Syfy channel LogoWe have some great news about Syfy series premieres for Merlin, Being Human, Face Off, Ghost Hunters, Lost Girl and more.

-

Merlin

First up…  Syfy‘s Merlin season 4 will be premiering on Friday, January 6th, 2012.

Colin Morgan plays Merlin, Bradley James is the young Prince Arthur, Angel Coulby is Gwen and Katie McGrath plays the evil, and outcast Morgana. Anthony Head returns as King Uther and Richard Wilson as Gaius.

Merlin is a great little entertaining piece that takes an old tale and spins a great new angle that’s pretty entertaining to follow.  It’s like a prequel of sorts.  And it grows on you from episode to episode!

-

Being Human

Being Human will be returning to Syfy for its second season premiere on January 16th, 2012.

Being Human stars Sam Witwer, Meaghan Rath and Sam Huntington as a vampire, ghost and werewolf, as this series, based on an idea from Toby Whithouse.  And so far, the series has pretty much followed the original series outline, so there’s been no real surprises, but it’s still a great sci-fi drama on Syfy.  I think it’s one of their bests shows they have to offer.

Ballroom 20

Ballroom 20 is oddly not on the schedule for Sunday.  I find it interesting, considering there are some big-name projects not on the schedule and Ballroom 20 is absent from Sunday.  Hmm

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Remake

-

It was previously written that Warner Bros is going forward with a remake of the 1992 Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie.  Joss Whedon was the screenplay writer for the movie and later, the writer & executive producer of the TV series by the same name.  Joss Whedon then parlayed the success of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series into a spinoff series titled Angel.

During the Buffy series alone, Whedon introduced us to many actors who will, through time, become beloved actors with not only the Whedonverse, but all the world!

Batman 3, Merlin, House News

-

Looking around the net this last week, here’s some of the stuff I didn’t write about in-depth, Batman 3, movie release dates, Big Love, Merlin, House MD & News Corp news or the planned lack thereof!:

-

Batman 3 Movie Title

A few things with Christopher Nolan‘s third Batman movie, previously know as Batman 3.  The title of the movie will be The Dark Knight Rises.  In The Dark Knight Rises, Nolan did not say who the bad guy is, but he did rule out The Riddler and I believe that Mr. Freeze is also off the table.

In a refreshing bit of news, Nolan has convinced Warner Bros to not film in 3D…  ahhh.  Nice.

As far as the production company headed down to New Orleans, it’s not because the bad guy is Killer Croc (Though he’s not been officially ruled out yet) but because they’re headed down there for interior filming.

NO is offering great tax breaks for filming down there… and in the time that other municipalities in the U.S. are cutting back on tax breaks for the entertainment industry.  Their loss.

-

Movie Release Dates
