mp3 player

If your Sansa Clip Frozen? My wife and I both have SanDisk 2GB Sansa Clips and we love them.  Now since I’ve picked up a Motorola Droid X on the Verizon network, and being synced up with my Amazon account, well, it’s hard to beat that.  If you can afford it that is.  Having a smart phone isn’t cheap.  But the Sansa Clip is and awesome 2GB MP3 music player.

But every now and then something causes the MP3 to freeze.

The first time, back in 2009, my wife’s clip screen went blank when she switched from radio mode to MP3 music mode.

Today I had my poor wife’s Sansa Clip plugged into my laptop when I had to do a reboot.  Doing this froze the Clip at the “Connected” window.  That’s the screen that shows up when it’s charging.

To fix your locked Sansa Clip, you can “reset” it.  Resetting your MP3 player involves holding the power button ‘up’ for around 15 seconds, then releasing.

Wallah, at least for us, it was fixed.

Check out the Sansa Clips on Amazon.

Amazon CLOUD DRIVE

Yesterday I noticed a big old announcement on the home (splash) page of Amazon.com announcing their new Cloud Drive for their customers.  I don’t usually jump on board new things until it’s been tested and proven by the guinea pigs users…  but this time, I lept in feet first!

Amazon’s Cloud Drive

Amazon‘s Cloud Drive is a two-fold feature.  My impression is that it’s primary function is for your MP3 collection and you ability to access it and play your music from anywhere.  The secondary function is to stash files and such that you want to be able to get at from anywhere.

-

For customers, we get an instant 5GB of disk space, free, to do with what we want.  Amazon stresses the redundancy of their back up processes and that anything we put on their Cloud is safe.

When you first log into the Cloud Drive, you have 4 folders.  Documents, Music, Pictures and Videos.  It’s obvious that they would like you to use the Cloud Drive for more than just music, but for the moment, I’ll only trust it to my music.

But the beauty of this new medium from Amazon is the interactive processes regarding your MP3s.

Christmas Tree

Merry Christmas Everyone

Can you imagine shopping Christmas eve, and liking it?  Or have you ever, ever imagined that you could still shop Christmas day and still have the gift you just bought, delivered before your gift recipient wakes up… or if you sleep in, at least get it to them on Christmas day.

Yes, you read right… shopping Christmas eve or day and having it delivered on time anyway!  Merhahaha…  there’s a whole new world awaiting us folks, from Gift Cards to MP3′s and even Kindle books getting e-delivered.  Check it out:

So Christmas shopping is done and we’re checking off our lists to make sure everyone is covered… and we discover that we forgot Eric in all our shopping sprees of shoulder pads and shopping bags.  But guess what, if Eric or anyone you know is synced up to these modern times, you might just have a quick out that’s easy for both you and your ill-forgotten buddy!

Kindle Books

-

If they have a Kindle, you can give Kindle Books that can be delivered instantly or whenever they sync up with their Amazon account.  I’ve been pleasantly surprised with how easy and fun it is to read Kindle books.  (My Motorola Droid X from Verizon came pre-loaded with the app and I love it.)

This product review recounts our mini-tale of whoa with our SanDisk 2GB Sansa Clip:

Both of our SanDisk 2GB Sansa Clips were inexpensive, incredibly easy to use digital players, does not limit us to specific sources of music and we’ve had them for a few years now.   We love our clips and buying them back then ended our MP3 search.

The other day, my wife was getting ready to head out the door on one of those mongo runs she does (Anything over 2 miles is mongo to me) to stay in condition for her 26.2 events.  She was switching her red 2 GB Sansa Clip over from radio mode to MP3 music mode when it went black on the screen and stopped responding.

My wife cannot be running without her MP3 player.

I started looking up fixes for this condition our Sansa Clip was experiencing and in the meantime, I gave her mine even though it’s got my selection of music on it and I’ve never set any presets for the radio function.  (Boy, was she thrilled with that idea!)

I discovered that whatever condition her Sansa Clip had slipped into, a reset worked for us.
