New DVD and Blu-ray Releases from Cinema Static

Welcome to the New DVD Release Report for August 10th, 2010.  This week there are over 190 new titles hitting shelves and there are a lot of choices to choose from. This week, hitting the shelves we have Date Night with Steve Carell and Tina Fey. For the older folk who have seen it, a classic TV Se… Se… Series: Max Headroom comes to DVD; and he’s joined by some cartoon classics like Bugs Bunny & Daffy Duck on their won DVD’s!

If you’re the comedy fan, Date Night would be the movie of choice… to date, it’s brought in $149 million worldwide.  If I had to pick, I’d settle on Numb3rs.  Always a fascinating show, bringing math and police procedurals together to catch the crooks.  It doesn’t sound like it would work but I’ve found myself always getting caught up in the episodes.  It’s presented well.

New DVD and Blu-ray Releases from Cinema Static

Welcome to the New DVD & Blu-ray Release for the week of August 3rd, 2010, presented by Cinema Static’s DVD online Store.  This week, over 200 new DVD & Blu-ray titles are hitting the shelves of your nearest walk-in or electronic store.  There’s a lot of inventory to move it seems as I’ve noticed a whole bunch of multi-movie sets with 2, 3 & 4 movies being sold together…  distributors are needing to move inventory.  What I’m listing today are, as usual, the more popular DVD & BD’s coming out.

Also this week, the distribution of anything TV related is really low, though we do have some “Heroes” and “Hawaii Five-O” this week.

The more anticipated, or best selling pre-released movies are:

• Diary of a Wimpy Kid
• Ghost Writer
• Heroes: Season Four
• Kick-Ass

New DVD and Blu-ray Releases from Cinema Static

Welcome to the New DVD Release Report for the week of June 1st, 2010 from Cinema StaticAlice In Wonderland takes us into the first week of June and it seems like this film just came out a few days ago.  I can’t remember a faster movie to DVD turnaround for a blockbuster.   The Wolfman remake is also clawing for your DVD dollar as well as a ton of Clint Eastwood re-issues. So many in fact that I left most of them out.  Needless to say if your looking for any films Mr. Eastwood has starred in or directed they’re now available repackaged for 2010.

DVD MOVIE OF THE WEEK
Alice in Wonderland

My DVD movie of the week is surprise, surprise, Alice In Wonderland! Tim Burton, Johnny Depp and Cast have created the most stunning version if this bizarre tale yet.  It will be decades before anyone would dare remake this film.  Well maybe a decade? OK at least 6 years.  {My honorable mentions are  ~ highlighted  ~ in the movie list.}

New DVD and Blu-ray Releases from Cinema Static

Welcome to the New DVD & Blu-ray Release Report for May 18th, 2010, from Cinema Static.

As the world spins out of control, worry not because DVDs last forever!  Welcome to this weeks DVD report. This week is chock full of cool releases. I can’t discuss them all so make sure your read the lists carefully.  Lots of great stuff for everyone!  You can thank me later for leaving out the latest Barney, Diet/Workout DVDs, and the endless Micheal Jackson tributes. You won’t find them covered here.  I have to make room for films with substance like, “Mega Shark Vs Giant Octopus” starring Lorenzo Lamas.

DVD MOVIE OF THE WEEK
When You're Strange DVD - The Doors

This week’s so called popular releases are, “Extraordinary Measures”, “Invictus,” “The Spy Next Door” and “Valentines Day.”. Ah what garbage!  My DVD pick of the week is the film/documentary, “When You’re Strange-A Film About The Doors.” Woody Harrelson’s “The Messenger” gets honorable mention.
