NASCAR is creating an online racing series in conjunction with iRacing.com.
February 9th is the premiere, or innaugural date for a season that consists of 18 races over a 39 week period, called the NASCAR iRacing Drivers World Championship.
iRacing is an online league which is an extension of my all-time favorite video game called NASCAR Racing 2003 Season (NR2k3).
Online, iRacing is allowing the 50 top-rated drivers from their higher ranked series to compete.

Bruce's eBay wrapped car from NR2003
This was my online avatar for my NASCAR racing game. It’s a cool car that I ran for quite a few years in online racing series using NASCAR Racing 2003 Season. One of the best sims out there still, today. I was an eBay fanatic, so it made sense who would be on my hood.
In the day, one of the best Racing Sims out there was NASCAR Racing 2003 Season (Referred to as NASCAR 2003, NR2003 or N2K3) that was put together by Papurus and distributed by Sierra.

It had the technology way before its time. It’s still a competitive physics simulator to any game out there today.
There have been wrecks in my game that I thought would never happen in the real world and yet through time, I’ve seen them really happen.
Example: Every now and then in the game, I’d see or get my own car on its side and sliding on the outside retainer wall. Remember Ryan Truex Jr. on the wall at Richmond?
It’s a wacky and accurate game.

As far as NASCAR racing simulations or games go, I’ve been a hardened critic of how EA (Electronic Arts) has handled their NASCAR franchise since they took a wad a money and lobbed it over the wall at NASCAR and nabbed the gaming rights for multiple years.
The only problem was, they spent their money on the rights, taking it away from the much superior NASCAR Racing 2003 Season from Sierra, by Papyrus.
To this day that simulation is used by multiple drivers to test digitally on tracks due to its incredible realism in physics and track representations.
EA Fulfills My Expectations
The community as a whole, was pretty disgusted with the EA platforms and lack of support for the game beyond their rushed release dates.
