Prometheus blu-ray, dvd, digital copy

-Prometheus comes out on DVD/Blu-ray Tuesday, October 9th.  And with 7 hours of bonus material, I’d say that’s a pretty impressive home entertainment release, considering what little some movies come out with these days. (See below for other feature details)

When the movie came out, fans of the Alien franchise were split down the middle, making it a hotly debated movie.  Ridley Scott must have enjoyed the fervor of media as fans went nuts online about the movie.  Some did not enjoy some aspects of the movie, feeling it was a bit off in the pre-telling of the story while others felt it served the purpose just fine.

Be that as it may, if you enjoyed the movie, it is now available to own on new DVD or Blu-ray disc.

Renowned director Ridley Scott takes fans on a gripping sci-fi adventure that “kicks ass so hard and often that it’s impossible not to be thrilled by it” (Peter Travers, Rolling Stone). Launching into space to discover the mysterious creators of the human race, the “genuinely epic” (Tom Long, Detroit News) film, PROMETHEUS, debuts globally on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD October 9 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. An unmatched home entertainment experience, watch the highly-anticipated blockbuster hit in the format it was meant to be viewed, stunning 3D high-definition.

Written by Damon Lindelof (“Lost”) and Jon Spaihts, PROMETHEUS features outstanding performances by Academy Award® winner* Charlize Theron (Monster), Golden Globe®-nominee* Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds), Guy Pearce (Memento), Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and Logan Marshall-Green (Devil).

-

Sure there were a few issues and curiosities in the telling of the movie, but as a sci-fi flick, it was fun enough for the few hours.

New DVD and Blu-ray ReleasesThis week, the new movies and TV shows coming out on DVD and Blu-ray this Tuesday, October 9th, 2012 include a few of what I would consider anticipated titles.

Star talent you can expect include David Boreanaz, Charlie Day, Lucille Ball, Michael Fassbender, Henry Thomas, Tom Cruise, Ray Milland, Rick Moranis and more.

Before we get on with this week’s new DVD and Blu-ray titles, I’m taking a peek at top sellers from the week ending Sept 30th:

Joss Whedon's The Avengers on Blu-ray

As if it’s no surprise, The Avengers was the No. 1 seller and rental in the Home Entertainment market.  Snow White and the Huntsman was the No. 2 seller and rental also.  But then the lists diverge from the third spot and on.

On the sales chart, The Hunger Games is No. 3 followed by Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3: Viva La Fiesta! and the Joss Whedon produced The Cabin in the Woods.

For rentals, the No. 3 spot was held by The Cabin in the Woods, followed by Battleship and What to Expect When You’re Expecting.
