r.i.p.

Katherine Chappell was a Visual Effects artist for a few 2014 episodes of HBO’s Game of Thrones, and a compositor for Royal Pains.

Game of Thrones

She held various positions on movies such as Arthur, Tower Heist, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Apocalypse Pompeii, DIVERGENT, Noah, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, GODZILLA and In the Heart of the Sea.

By now you may be aware of the tragedy, but in case you have not, Katherine Chappell was on a volunteer mission in South Africa, to protect wildlife.

While on an auto tour through a park called The Lion Park, a lioness approached her side of the car while Katherine was taking pictures. It lunged at her thruogh the window and subsequently killed her.

According to park officials, her car window was open all the way down, when rules for the park tours state to never open windows.

Regardless, it is a tragedy for all involved and our thoughts go out to her family.
