I’ve been a bit under the weather this week and was debating if I wanted to actually use what energy reserves I have to go see Priest in my local Century 20 Downtown Redwood City and XD theater, but alas, after checking out the website Movie Review Intelligence, I think I might save my energy for another day.
Of the new movies at the box office this weekend, Bridesmaids is getting a surprising 84% positive reviews while Priest is only pulling in 41% positive rated reviews. But then I noticed that there are only 4 reviews for Priest while Bridesmaids has 45 reviews.
Does this indicate that there were no early screenings for Priest from the studios? That’s never a good sign to me. I cruised the ‘net to see what was out there and what I saw was…
IGN says
“Priest offers enough action and cool bits to probably hold the interest of most 14-year-old boys, but its hodgepodge story and overall derivative nature make it feel like a movie that should have come out back in the ’90s.” [3.5 / 5]
