That was quick! It’s been announced today that the Syfy network, an offshoot of Comcast owned NBC, has put in a renewal order for Being Human, the supernatural drama starring Sam Witwer, Meaghan Rath and Sam Huntington as vampire Aidan, ghost Sally and werewolf Josh who share the creature comforts of home in a Boston brownstone.
The new season will also be a 13-episode season, like this present second season is.
These three unique roommates struggle in their day-to-day lives to keep their supernatural secrets and resist individual temptations as they strive to live lives that are as near to normal as possible.
The order comes on the heals of a large TV ratings increase after only 4 episodes of the second season of the show.
“To date, viewership for the second season has increased by an impressive +27% in Adults 18-49, +35% in Adults 25-54 and +15% in total viewers.”

Merlin
First up… Syfy‘s Merlin season 4 will be premiering on Friday, January 6th, 2012.
Colin Morgan plays Merlin, Bradley James is the young Prince Arthur, Angel Coulby is Gwen and Katie McGrath plays the evil, and outcast Morgana. Anthony Head returns as King Uther and Richard Wilson as Gaius.
Merlin is a great little entertaining piece that takes an old tale and spins a great new angle that’s pretty entertaining to follow. It’s like a prequel of sorts. And it grows on you from episode to episode!

Being Human
Being Human will be returning to Syfy for its second season premiere on January 16th, 2012.
Being Human stars Sam Witwer, Meaghan Rath and Sam Huntington as a vampire, ghost and werewolf, as this series, based on an idea from Toby Whithouse. And so far, the series has pretty much followed the original series outline, so there’s been no real surprises, but it’s still a great sci-fi drama on Syfy. I think it’s one of their bests shows they have to offer.
