X-Men: Days of Future Past

X-Men Days of Future Past movie newsThe newest X-Men movie that’s coming out, X-Men: Days of Future Past, lost it’s director and Fox had to go find another director.  I figured it would be a great time to branch out with the creative team and bring new life to the franchise.  I’m not sure if it’s because no is interested or the track record, but Fox decided to bring Bryan Singer back into the mix as director of X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Bryan did write X-Men: First Class and that was a great take on the franchise, but is Bryan the right guy for this job?

He directed the upcoming movie, Jack the Giant Slayer, and directed X-Men and X2.  He also directed Superman Returns.  But then, one huge boon to his resume is his directorial spin on The Usual Suspects.

So we’ll see how this turns out.  It should be fine.  Right? maybe?

X-Men: Days of Future Past is due out in July of 2014 and reported cast on board include Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Jason Flemyng (Azazel).

If you’re a Captain America fan, I think you’ll love Captain America: The First Avenger.  If you’re not a fan, I think you’ll find it entertaining but not necessarily a movie that makes you go wow!  The movie takes place in the early 1940′s with Chris Evans starring as Steve Rogers/Captain America, the kid whose only goal is to serve his country and doesn’t believe that he should get a free ride while others are over-seas, fighting the good fight.

Captain America The First Avenger still no 1 with Chris Evans

Stanley Tucci plays the man behind the super-soldier serum, Dr. Abraham Erskine and if you like Tucci, you’ll love him in this role as he manages to bring a caring level of character to the role.

It was weird to see Hugo Weaving and hear a German accent but I managed, besides, as Johann Schmidt, he rips his face off early in the movie so we have Red Skull though the majority of it.

Other cast includes Hayley Atwell, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Tommy Lee Jones as Col Phillips, Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark with quick appearance in the end, of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.  I was pleasantly surprised to see one of my faves, Neal McDonough playing ‘Dum Dum’ Dugan!

The movie was directed by Joe Johnston.
