
In news that is not very surprising, THR has confirmed with Syfy that Sanctuary is not returning for a fifth season.
No $$$$ Sherlock!
And it’s about time that Syfy fessed to canceling Sanctuary instead of letting the fans continually hang on the deafening silence that was emanating from the net.
The silence was deafening as no news came out about the show back in February and it only became worse as networks were announcing their schedule of new shows and yet, Syfy said nary a word about the series, despite announcing their line up and fans continually inquiring.

As of late February to late March, that was usually the time when announcements or news would come out about Sanctuary starring Amanda Tapping, being renewed. Obviously that time frame has slipped by! This year, fans have had to deduce, wonder and play detective to figure out what’s up with their favorite show and if it’s coming back to the Syfy channel.
Has Sanctuary been cancelled?
I’ve seen in several pieces out there where the cast have been asked about the show coming back, but all they say is that
“There’s no news yet.”
Folks have pummeled Syfy’s Twitter account with questions. (Ahem… ) But have been met with a similar kind of ambiguous answer or silence!
It’s obvious that people would like to know what’s going on. But I can only assume that since we’re not being teased about something on the horizon or what not, that Sanctuary has been cancelled. If the Comcast owned Syfy channel can cancel Eureka, I can only imagine how fast the budget cutting sword came slicing through the air at the Sanctuary time slot. I mean, hey, god knows they have enough reality TV shows on cars, make up, props and games in the dark to fill in void. And to be honest, if the people didn’t pander to those programing patterns, fans would not be out in the cold now.
