UPDATE: The Winner of ‘The Captains’ was Ronald O. I’ll be in touch! Thanks for coming by!
- The Captains is a documentary movie written, directed and narrated by William Shatner, the Captain Kirk from the 1960′s Star Trek series. The documentary involves William Shatner locating and interviewing the various actors that have played the captains in the various Star Trek franchise TV shows or movies.
The personalities we spend the most time with in The Captains are Sir Patrick Stewart (Star Trek: The Next Generation), Avery Brooks (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Kate Mulgrew (Star Trek: Voyager), Scott Bakula (Star Trek: Enterprise) & Chris Pine (The new James Kirk in J.J. Abrams‘ Star Trek movie.)
At the front half of the documentary, the introductory or opening interviews are quick and to the point, as they bounce around from one to the other. They’re quick intros where Shatner asks the actor how they got involved in acting. It gives the viewer a quick feel for how each session will be like.
During the interviews, we don’t just get to become familiar with the different actors, we also get insights from William Shatner himself as he takes moments to interject his own experiences from his life, both Star Trek and non Star Trek related in either the interviews or spots between the interviews.

This week with over 250 new titles, we have quite the variety of new DVD and Blu-ray releases coming out. New titles include the surprise hit (for me) of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, the first season of the TV series Sherlock. We also finally get a chance to snatch up the fifth series of Doctor Who, starring Matt Smith.
Other titles include Grown Ups with Adam Sandler, Charlie St. Cloud with Zac Efron and an animated DC Showcase of Superman/Shazam: The Return of Black Adam.

Scott Bakula is on the comeback trail indeed. As Chuck’s dad, he must have hit it off good because he’s signed on for multiple episodes that will help close out the end of the 3rd season of Chuck! Cool or what? … the answer is cool!

Men of a Certain Age, which first aired on December 7th, continues its 10:00 PM eastern Monday night time slot on TNT. It marks the return of the Emmy® winning writing talents of Ray Romano and Mike Royce to series television; this time with a drama. Their ability as story tellers and to write realistic dialog has only improved with time. The show has the potential to bring another successful award winning series to TNT.
Men of a Certain Age stars Emmy® winner Ray Romano, Emmy® winner Andre Braugher and Golden Globe® Winner Scott Bakula with a supporting cast that is comprised of highly skilled and talented actors.
The story is about the lives of three men approaching a certain age who have been friends since college.
Owen (Andre Braugher) is the everyman of the three friends. He appears to be a happy and successful married father of three. The truth is that he is an unhappy car salesman working for a demanding father. As much as he would like to quit, he stays to please his wife Melissa (Lisa Gay Hamilton) and provide for his children. The stress doesn’t help him control his diabetes with a healthy life style.
