Coach vs. Ozzy has been the battle of the veterans in this season of Survivor: South Pacific.
The season finale started out recapping their arrival on the island and the reception the veterans received. Oddly, Coach was dissed and Ozzy embraced. And there was that Hantz character, Brandon Hantz. Despite his saying he wanted to distance himself from his famous uncle, Russell Hantz.
Tonight on the season finale of Survivor: South Pacific, we’ve watched the recap, watching Ozzy out on Redemption Island taking people out, one at a time, while Coach seemed to be manipulating the path of the game on the main island.
Tonight, we’re down to just a few Survivors. And oddly, Ozzy seemed more sure of himself to the point of being arrogant this year.
And of course, last week, Brandon made this bone-headed move and gave up his immunity necklace to Albert, and Albert wouldn’t give it back. Brandon was sent to Redemption Island to face Ozzy.
-
Back at Redemption Island, the duel was on between Ozzy and Brandon, and the challenge was hanging on to a small post. First one to fall, is out of the game. And as the contest went on, it seemed that Brandon had this game. Yet after more than 40 minutes of gripping a thin pole, Brandon finally slipped off. Through a lot of it, it seemed like Ozzy was somewhat shaky. But Ozzy still managed to win the duel.

The season finale of The Biggest Loser has pulled in another group of folks who needed help losing a huge amount of weight in a short period of time. It was the usual, where some folk started out the season between 350 and 450 pounds.
Through it all, we watched the seasoned Bob Harper drive contestants through their paces, while new new trainers Dolvett Quince and Anna Kournikova did their parts too. Alison Sweeney was the host for this 12th season of The Biggest Loser.
-
Bob and Dolvett seemed to be pretty popular but Anna apparently had some scenarios going on and won’t be returning next season. (Anna Kournikova is Leaving The Biggest Loser)

This TV Review has DVR Viewer Spoilers for Boardwalk Empire…

I’m not sure what to say or where to start. Most of this season of Boardwalk Empire, Nucky (Steve Buscemi) has been trying to dodge legal hot water, as that pesky investigator was building her case against him. But as usual, this series, from Terence Winter (The Sopranos) and Martin Scorsese rocked my Sunday evening once again. How can Boardwalk Empire not rock?

But then things started falling apart for her as the Boardwalk Empire season started to mature closer to the season finale. The creepy but focused Agent Van Alden’s (played well by Michael Shannon) life started to fall apart, from an illegitimate baby, pending divorce and then to have his murder of his past partner come to light put him on the road and on the lamb!
Then the political underpinnings of the city were turning against Nucky until James Darmody’s (Michael Pitt) father (Dabney Coleman) died… or, well, was killed.

Wow, was that not a powerful episode of Supernatural or what? The last episode of Supernatural saw the Leviathon, Dick Roman, put a bullet in Bobby Singers (Jim Beaver) head.
The following TV review is full of SPOILERS, so proceed at your own risk!

In the mid-season finale episode titled “Death’s Door,” we find ourselves split between two worlds. The one where Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) are waiting, worried, in the hospital, and the other where Bobby is floating around through various memories of his life.

Bobby runs across the deceased Rufus (Steven Williams) [It was good to see Rufus again!] and other memories like when as a child, confronting his abusive father.
All the while, Bobby is trying to fend off, run from or stall the reaper from taking him.

Supernatural Recap
As the Supernatural episode started, I feared that what we were seeing in the first 15 minutes was going to be some silly collection of scene recaps. I feared the doldrums. Silly me, what was I thinking?

To be honest, though I’ve loved House on Fox over the last several years, the show feels like it has become long in the tooth or jumped the shark. Sure, he’s the same, witty, snarky, privacy-invasive super-intelligent doctor that Hugh Laurie has been for some years now. Eight seasons to be exact.
And no matter what they do to try and spice it up, House is just getting old for me. I’m tired of watching House continually invade his staffs’ privacy or work spaces. I’m tired of seeing him get away with things no human would ever get away with in any legal system, never mind the uber-legalized environment of a hospital.
And I’m tired of not seeing him get decked more often by his peers. And I’m tired of Taub letting House run him over repeatedly.
Though I’m not tired of the new girl, who is like a House Jr., Dr. Chi Park (Charlyne Yi). Yes, I think I’ve reached my rope’s end for watching House. It’s the eighth season of the same stuff, with a few different people.

If you follow Cinema Static on Twitter, or Brusimm on FB, that I fired off this info yesterday…
STARZ announced that Spartacus: Vengeance, starring Liam McIntyre, will be premiering on the pay cable channel on Friday, January 27th at 10pm ET/PT.

If you recall the season finale of the first season, Spartacus: Blood and Sand, you know that there was a blood bath to be had at the House of Batiatus and Spartacus led the revolt to freedom.
In Spartacus: Vengeance, the 2nd season premiere takes place a mere few weeks after events from the 1st season finale.
Capua is in disarray, with all the gladiators having escaped. And all the gladiators have formed what could be called an uneasy alliance.
Spartacus is focused on revenge for the murder of his wife, but he will come to realize that his actions have started something bigger than avenging Sura’s death.
Now, he has a different mission, and that’s to build a new army, free the slaves and bring the Roman Empire to its knees.

If you caught the season finale of Alphas on the Syfy channel last week, you know what I mean by it being a huge story changer. But has this game changer come too soon in the Alphas franchise?

David Strathairn plays Dr. Lee Rosen, the man in charge of the gifted group of people. Ryan Cartwright plays Gary Bell, who not only has an alpha gift, but is a bit gifted himself.
Warren Christie plays Cameron Hicks, the man with incredible aim. Azita Ghanizada plays Rachel Pirzad. Her gift is the ability to by hyper-attuned to her surroundings. She can see and hear things no one else can. She’s a walking CSI lab!
Laura Mennell plays Nina Theroux, the woman who can exert her will-power of most people, to make them do what she wants them to.
Malik Yoba plays Bill Harken, who can use super-strength, when his adrenaline kicks in.
-
In the first season finale of Alphas, a lot has progressed in the plot. It’s matured quickly and though I like where it’s gone, I’m thinking it’s gone the route of X-Men a little too quickly. It’s going to be a tricky route to follow, but it’s not impossible.

And another episode of Doctor Who, the season finale, starts out with their trademark collective of obscure pieces of story pulled together to start the episode off. (It’s very late, I’m very tired. I hope this makes sense.)
It will all be explained… and if you can survive the confusion that is Doctor Who, it all starts to make sense by about the half-way point, usually. Except in this case, for me, it only started to make sense in the last 10 minutes. And I had a full explanation of of everything in the last 4 minutes.

With that said, spoilers of a sort are coming:
