Source Code is a pure joy-ride of a movie that comes at you with what you might think is a cliched story line, but makes the premise as fresh as I’ve ever seen it and surprises the viewer in the end. This is as spoiler-free of a movie review as I can muster.

Source Code (from Summit Entertainment) is directed by Duncan Jones (Moon) and stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan & Vera Farmiga. When I stepped into the the Redwood Century 21 movie complex theater, I wasn’t sure what to expect . I’ve never been a real Jake Gyllenhaal fan and the idea of a movie based around a man going back through time and using what is obviously an eight minute time-frame restriction to resolve a mystery bomber wasn’t exactly something that sounded like it could be that entertaining. I mean seriously, we’ve seen GroundHog Day, it was cute, but eh. But then again, we’ve seen it handled well in a different venue, TV, with a Star Trek The Next Generation and Stargate SG-1. (You have got to love ‘Gate Golf!’)
Oh boy was I wrong.
