New Movies & TV on DVD and Blu-ray

This week’s new DVD releases coming out on both DVD and Blu-ray include some great movies on disc!  For one, the most excellent title starring Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale, The Fighter (Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy).

We also have the Matt Damon and Bryce Dallas Howard starrer, Hereafter.

We then have The Switch, with Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman & Patrick Wilson.

A classic set of monster movies is coming out this day also: Gamera Vs. Zigra / Gamera: The Super Monster [Double-Feature].  How awesome is that!

A Shine of Rainbows with Connie Nielsen, Aidan Quinn, John Bell and Jack Gleeson

Of course, the collection of movies wouldn’t be complete without the Roger Corman soon-to-be-classic, Sharktopus!

There’s a few classics if I ever saw some.

New TV shows coming out this week include Coach: The Fourth Season, with Craig T. Nelson.

Then there’s the The Virginian – The Complete Third Season – Special Embossed Tin – 10 DVD Set!.  If you’re a fan, that’s pretty awesome.

We also have the first season of Laramie with John Smith.

Then there’s season one of Who Do You Think You Are?

My friend, Diane L., with her Encino-based company, injected Reese’s Pieces into E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.  While she owned her company I saw even the tiniest of products that made it onto the silver and small screens.  It was amazing to see the behind-the-scenes of the industry.

Face it, advertising, no matter what the format, is the inevitable reality of entertainment.  I don’t know about you but for me, the most classic placements include Coke, Pepsi, car brands and that pesky back-lit Apple logo!

But then there’s the Brandcameo Product Placement Awards.  Here’s a sic approach to celebrating the placement of company labels within movies.
