DVD Sales Last week, (The week ending 3/24)

The Muppets was the number 1 DVD/Blu-ray seller, followed by The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Hop, Happy Feet Two and The Adventures of Tintin.  Rounding out the top-10 sellers was The Sitter, Game of Thrones s1, The Descendants, Immortals and Puss in Boots.

'War Horse' DVD and Blu-rayWar Horse Starring Jeremy Irvine, Emily Watson, David Thewlis.

This movie has pulled in $173m worldwide so far, with movie goers scoring this movie with a 7/10 on IMDb!  Sounds like something worth looking into.

'We Bought a Zoo', DVD and Blu-rayWe Bought A Zoo Starring Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson and Colin Ford.

Grossing $106m worldwide, this movie also earned a 7/10 user score…

'China Town' on Blu-rayChinatown [on Blu-ray] Starring Jack Nicholson, Faye Dunaway, John Huston and Diane Ladd.

This 1974 movie has over 100,000 votes and is scored with a mid-8/10 by movie fans.  That’s hard to ignore and for IMDb, that’s a strong score.

The Oscars AKA The Academy AwardsOn Tuesday, January 24th, the nominations for the 84th Annual Academy Awards were announced.

The nominations seemed a little light on the original song & makeup below.  The number of nods are not surprising for a few of these films, but I would have thought that if a movie had nominations for writing, or best picture, or directing, that those same nods would have potentially garnered some actors getting their own nods off that work.  But that’s just me wondering out-loud about the celebrated processes at work behind the scenes of Hollywood.
