Brusimm Cinema Static TV NewsI came into the 2nd season finale of The Voice on NBC fairly excited.  I enjoy their format along with some of the moments when the judging talent actuall gets up on stage and shows us why they’re top of their class.

It’s a great and original approach that I appreciated.  It also introduced me to the talent in those spinning chairs… I was never exposed to CeeLo Greene or Blake Shelton.

But The Voice‘s season 2 finale was a bit disappointing, or at least confusing.

During the show, we had two modern-day songs and the rest of the performances were of classic, older, soft rock songs than anything else.

I’m not sure what demographic was being appealed to with this selection of music.  Flo Rida and Justin Bieber brought the new music while Daryl Hall and John Oates, Lady Antebellum, and the combined forces of contestants from the show belted out other classics.

The Voice Winner is Jermaine Paul (Which means Blake Shelton’s guy won and next season, we’ll never hear the end of it between Blake and Adam.  LOL.)

As voting goes, Juliett Simms was 2nd, Tony Lucca 3rd, and Chris Mann was 4th.

Well, definitely no more background singing for Jermaine,  that’s a fact!!!   He thanked his family and the man above then gave a victory song of “I Believe I Can Fly,” dashing off to hug his father, then holding his wife on stage during several verses… I think this was one of the most emotionally inspiring reality TV competition show wins I’ve seen in a long time.

Me, personally, I’m more a rocker than anything else and was looking for Juliett Simms to win, but hey, I think CeeLo will be signing her up pretty quick.
