New DVD & Blu-ray Releases For Apr 3rd: [War Horse, We Bought A Zoo]

This week there are roughly 110 new DVD and Blu-ray releases coming out this week, on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012. Those releases include cast such as Jeremy Irvine, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, John Lithgow, John Barrowman and more.

DVD Sales Last week, (The week ending 3/24)

The Muppets was the number 1 DVD/Blu-ray seller, followed by The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Hop, Happy Feet Two and The Adventures of Tintin. Rounding out the top-10 sellers was The Sitter, Game of Thrones s1, The Descendants, Immortals and Puss in Boots.

This week, new DVD and Blu-ray titles include

War Horse Starring Jeremy Irvine, Emily Watson, David Thewlis.

This movie has pulled in $173m worldwide so far, with movie goers scoring this movie with a 7/10 on IMDb! Sounds like something worth looking into.

We Bought A Zoo Starring Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson and Colin Ford.

Grossing $106m worldwide, this movie also earned a 7/10 user score…

Chinatown [on Blu-ray] Starring Jack Nicholson, Faye Dunaway, John Huston and Diane Ladd.

This 1974 movie has over 100,000 votes and is scored with a mid-8/10 by movie fans. That’s hard to ignore and for IMDb, that’s a strong score.

The Season Finale of ‘Torchwood: Miracle Day’ – A Quick Review

This is a TV review of the Starz TV show Torchwood: Miracle Day season finale. There’s a spot where there are some mild or potential spoilers, and the latter half of this article doth contain a spoilerific bit of prose.

You’ve been warned, and there are warnings just before the deed of vile spoilers.

The season finale episode started out fast and hard, a nice change of pace from the previous 9 episodes of the season and it did answer almost all the questions viewers of the TV show may have come up with.

We revisited many of the themes we were presented with throughout the season… and though unlikely, learned who and how the miracle was formed or shaped. Everything led up to this season finale of Torchwood: Miracle Day nicely, even if it was grudgingly slow, as if the writers were doing what they could to stave off the resolution until as late as possible.

I’m mixed on this season of Torchwood. It was lengthy for what it was and I was expecting so much more after CoE. And maybe that was my failing in my experience with this season. My expectations of the show were wrong.
