The newest movie in the Riddick franchise, Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking, is coming up, its theatrical release due out 2013.
This Riddick sequel stars Vin Diesel as Riddick, Karl Urban returns as Vaako and Katee Sackhoff as Dahl. Other cast includes Dave Bautista as Diaz, Bokeem Woodbine as Moss and Jordi Mollà as Santana.
David Twohy, who previously directed A Perfect Getaway, the first Chronicles of Riddick movie and Pitch Black, is at the helm again, as writer/director.
But if you’re thinking this is a sequel to the first Riddick movie, hold tight! It is NOT! Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking is a direct sequel to Pitch Black… so it takes place before the first Riddick titled movie!
The film summary says:
Betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick (Vin Diesel) fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction.

I’ve been covering the news of this movie since October 2009, and I may have been the first to derive the full title of the movie, from a publicized casting call in March of 2012! But enough about that. I’ve also put together a Riddick Photo Gallery for the fans of this franchise, because face it, it’s a fun franchise and how many men do you know can kill with a tea cup??? (Oh, wait, that comes after this movie!)
