This Brusimm roundup chats about Transformers 3 & Batman 3. A bit on a new online Serenity comic, Emilie Ullerup, Skyline and auditions info on America’s Got Talent. We also have some incidental info on Grey’s Anatomy, Caprica apples and a bit on a Gizmodo site vent! Pretty interesting stuff… if that’s what you like.

Word on the street is that it is post production time for Transformers 3, (Transformers Dark of the Moon). Principal shooting has come to an end and now it is time to start adding the magic of CGI and inserting Transformers into the story. It’s been fun watching the details of the film shoots and now I’m betting we’ll start seeing teaser and preview trailers pretty soon to keep our appetites whet.

There’s a rumor that it’s possible that Christopher Nolan may be shooting The Dark Knight Rises completely in IMAX. That rumor is boosted by the rumor that IMAX has finally made a camera small enough that you don’t need a jeep or helicopter to manhadle it!
Sweet. Of course that’s a double rumor report so we’ll have to wait and see.
Almost Update: An update is when you’ve gone to “print” and corrected the info. In this case, I found out that they won’t be shooting the entire film in IMAX… just as much as they can.

So far, the only official news we’ve heard about the status of Joss Whedon directing the Marvel Entertainment movie, The Avengers, was that he was in talks to do so. Many are reporting it as defacto despite not hearing official word.
The latest unofficial word on the matter of Whedon directing The Avengers was when his brother Zack Whedon mentioned in an interview with CBR that
“We are all anxious to work on it, but some of us – and I’m not pointing any fingers here – but some of us have tentatively agreed to helm an all-star mega-blockbuster summer tent-pole extravaganza movie to be released in 2012.”
If you do the math, it seems to be a tentatively good thing. (Just to be accurate.)

Serenity: The Shepherd’s Tale – We’ve been waiting for this since forever and a day… or at least since about 1/2 way through Joss Whedon’s sci fi series, Firefly.
The much anticipated Serenity comic, or graphic novel about Shepherd Book’s (Derrial Book) origins is still 6 months away, but Dark Horse Comics has provided a first look at artist Steve Morris’s cover to the graphic novel. If you remember, we’re all mystified as to where Shepherd Book really comes from and if you dig farther into your memory, there’s a quote from a bounty hunter named Jubal Early, who after knocking out Book said “That ain’t no shepherd?” What a way to drive us nuts with curiosity!
Serenity fans know he can handle himself in a scuffle, can handle firearms much better than any shepherd should, has a seemingly in-depth awareness of the criminal element and the potential of much more has always been just below the surface.

Zack Whedon will be showing up at Golden Apple Comics on Saturday, April 3rd, 2010 at 7 p.m.. Hmm, one source says 7 p.m., another says 3 p.m..
Zack will obviously be chatting about his Terminator #1 comic from Dark Horse Comics.
I’d say give them a call and make sure what the correct time is! (323) 658-6047

Serenity: The Shepherd’s Tale is finally coming to the light of day. We are finally going to figure out the back story of Shepherd Book from Joss Whedon’s Firefly.
Back in mid-2008 I came across news that a Shepherd Book comic book was coming to the masses. Now the news is becoming a reality!
Shepherd Book is the enigma of the Firefly western science fiction television series. He always had wisdom when needed, and yet he seemed to have wisdom from sources other than from “the book” of god!
The biggest teaser that was never answered was the quote from Jubal Early, a bounty hunter, who seemed to know Shepherd Book from another time when he said “that ain’t no shepherd.”

I’m on a Zack Whedon binge here tonight on Cinema Static on SoB, so I thought I’d remind you about his work on the one shot Dr. Horrible origins story.
The Dark Horse press release tells us:
From the Joss Whedon-helmed webmovie Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog comes the origin story of the next greatest supervillain of all time . . . DR. HORRIBLE!
In this one-shot comic, Zack Whedon and artist Joelle Jones (Token) establish how a young, impressionable, but brilliant Dr. Horrible was drawn into a world of crime. Readers are reacquainted with the charming, brawny, crime-fighting superhero extraordinaire Captain Hammer when Dr. Horrible crosses paths with his greatest enemy in an all-out showdown of immeasurable proportions. Special guest appearances include Dr. Horrible’s love interest, Penny; his sidekick, Moist; and a meter man.

Details have emerged on what Zack Whedon’s Terminator Comic is going to be about.
We know that Kyle Reese will be sent from 2029 to 1984 to tackle a T-800. Zack’s comic rendition of the Terminator franchise shows us Kyle’s life prior to his going back in time.
The Dark Horse press release (after the break) says:

Zack Whedon made a few announcements of late: His Dr. Horrible comic title comes out November 18th, but more importantly, Zack announced that he is working on a 6-issue Terminator series for our favorite comic publisher, Dark Horse Comics.
He sounds pretty excited about creating scenes from one of his favorite franchises and action scenes that won’t cost $150 million to make. LOL… good point.
I can’t wait!

It’s an awesome month to be a Joss Whedon & Whedon family fan.
We’ve been getting bits of news about all kinds of Whedon projects while Dollhouse gets shelved by Fox for the sweeps month of November. Joss weighs in on Fox’s decision after that, but I’m also choosing to focus a few new bits of news that Cinema Static on SoB has come across.
In case you missed it, there’s Zack Whedon’s Dr Horrible prequel comic, from Dark Horse Comics. Dark Horse is releasing 1-shot comic episodes of different titles, the Dr. Horrible comic being one of them. Prior to the Horrible prequel, Dark Horse is releasing a 1-shot comic of Joss Whedon’s Sugarshock, based on Joss’s & Fabio Moon’s webcomic.
In an article at Newsrama, Zack Whedon talks about the oddness of winning an Emmy for Dr. Horrible. (Did you know that Zack Whedon has written episodes for Deadwood and Fringe?)
He’s also putting together the new AMC television series titled Rubicon, due to air in 2010.
The Zack Whedon article is a fun read. I don’t want to steal the thunder from it, so head on over to Newsrama and check it out!

I’ve previously mentioned the upcoming fan-made Dr Horrible prequel. In that same article, I touched on the sequel to Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog that Joss Whedon is writing and that Nathan Fillion will be in it.
Well, no disrespect to the fans who put together their little take on a prequel, but folks, if the real deal slaps together a prequel, I’m thinking that outranks any other kind of project, don’t you think?
And so it is, that Zack Whedon has put out a Dr. Horrible comic, with art by Joelle Jones, under the Dark Horse Comics banner.
The uber cool part about the comic that Zack put out is that it touches on how our favorite misaligned evil bad guy, Dr. Horrible, became the way he is today! Yes, the true prequel of sorts, from one of the minds that helped put the original together.
It’s a one-shot comic that is scheduled to hit newsstands on November 18th. It looks at Billy’s childhood and how he came to wear the labcoat! It also has Captain Hammer, the Evil League of Evil and Penny shows up too.
The even better part is that there is a 7-page preview of the comic on the MTV website. Check it out gang!
