[UPDATED with Premiere Episode Recap of The Amazing Race at the bottom of this original content]
You know, when I came across a Cinema Static insiders observation that Jeff Schroeder and Jordan Lloyd of Big Brother were spotted in Mexico (I think it was), they surmised that they were competing in The Amazing Race.
I guess they were right… because those two pesky cute Big Brother contestants are indeed in the race!
But the fact they’re in the world circumventing race would mean that at least at the time of the show’s filming, they’re still together. That’s cool.
Below is the CBS Press Release announcing the newest pairs of teams for The Amazing Race, and their status associated with each other in the team.:

CBS today announced the 11 Teams set to compete in the 16th edition of THE AMAZING RACE, premiering Sunday, Feb. 14 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Emmy Award nominee Phil Keoghan is the host.
Contestants will travel nearly 40,000 miles across five continents and eight countries. Eleven Teams start off by navigating through the congested streets of Los Angeles and, for the first time ever, must rely solely on public transportation to make their way to LAX. The Teams’ first destination lies in Chile where they will encounter one of the most daunting Roadblocks in the history of the series. In their ongoing battle for the one million dollar prize, Teams will participate in a grueling World War I reenactment in France, retrace the early days of the iconic rock group, The Beatles, and come face-to-face with one of the world’s most infamous villains.
Season 16 features Teams from all walks of life, including couples, parents, siblings, friends, models, lawyers, detectives and even cowboys.
The Emmy Award-Winning THE AMAZING RACE received its seventh consecutive Emmy for Outstanding Reality Competition Program last year.

Premiere Episode Recap / Update:
Phil set the teams on their first clue… and challenge, which was using only public transportation to get to the airport. Los Angeles took a ding, as it was noted how difficult public transportation can be in L.A.. The bait for this 1st bit was that the 1st 3 teams get on the 1st flight. The other teams would get on a flight that leaves an hour later.
The teams scattered, taking various means to get there and despite teams getting to the first airplane, the plane had problems and everyone ended up on the same plane.
They flew to Valparaiso, Chile. The cowboys didn’t have the right money and had to take a later bus than some. The roadblock in Valparaiso was a kind of cable walk that was 1oo+ ft off the ground. Some did OK, others got a bit shaky and some just locked up and had issues, asking god for help. Adrian had issues and fell off the line and needed help getting back to the start.
After the high wire walk, the next challenge was “Paint the Town,” where teams have to carry paint cans and a ladder up a steep street and paint a section of a house for their next clue. Some had challenges with this rather confounding challenge.
Side note: Jeff seems pretty patient with Jordan… for now. But if anyone here saw them in Big Brother, you know how stressed Jeff can get when things come down to the line. I’m preparing for that moment.

Jordan and Jeff were the 1st to get to the pitstop.
Caite and Brent skipped one step of the day and were penalized 30 minutes at the pitstop. They arrived 2nd but after the penalty, checked in 7th.
Dan and Jordan showed up 4th, but got a 15-minute penalty for losing a paintbrush in a challenge. They checked in 8th.
Dana and Adrian were eliminated because Adrian couldn’t get past the high wire roadblock, even after trying a second time. (Kudos to Adrian for trying.)
