'The Avengers' LIVE Red Carpet Premiere event

Did you come by and watch the Red Carpet festivities for The Avengers Hollywood Premiere here?

It was channeled through YouTube and now the event is a stand-alone video if you want to go check it out.  But if you want to skip the hoopla, the movie trailer for The Avengers happens at the 1:27:00 mark and cast/crew introductions take place right after that.

Reviews are still embargoed for some reason but the folks who attended the Hollywood Premiere were allowed to tweet their reactions to seeing the movie.  The general feeling is that director Joss Whedon did not fail but rather, came through with his usually good comedic timing and multi-character ensemble work.  And it seems that if you feel like a tweet is worth a thousand words, then the various tweets noted by Comic Book Movie were full of praise and glee.

@edgarwright: ‘The Avengers’ is a big tub of popcorn heaven.

@firstshowing: The Avengers – Epic. EPIC!  (Alex is pretty exuberant about almost everything he sees, but for once, his spin seems to agree with everyone else.)

@Variety_JLD: It’s the bomb. I could not possibly say enough.

@slashfilm: The Avengers is pretty epic. There is probably more action in this film’s climax than all the other Marvel movie combines! (Peter is pretty down to Earth.)

@colliderfrosty: Absolutely loved THE AVENGERS.  &  the two things that made #THEAVENGERS amazing: the Hulk and the humor. Joss Whedon gets a 10 out of 10 on both of those.

And on and on.

The one other interesting point that Comic Book Movie observed was that amongst the many tweets that went flying, the identity of the aliens that attack Earth was slipped out.
Joss wasn’t lying, not Skrull. The Chitauri.
So now we have to wait…  egads.

The Avengers theatrical release takes place on May 4th, 2012.

OH, and one tweet said, (as if this is a surprise) that there’s a surprise during/after the credits, so stay tuned.!

To continue the Marvel dominance at the box office, Iron Man 3 comes out on May 3, 2013 and Thor 2 on November 15, 2013. Now if they can only snag and hold onto a director for Captain America 2.

BTW:  All the sites noted in tweets…  Collider, Slashfilm, FirstShowing… all great sites.
