Right now word on the street is that predictions are putting Joss Whedon’s The Avengers theatrical release premiere at around or above the $150 million mark at the box office.

The Avengers opens May 4th, but be it as it may, Iron Man, Thor, Cap and Hulk fans will finally get to see The Avengers on the same screen, and to be honest, needing to break the bank if Disney/Marvel is to reap its investments into the movie… but I think the fan boys and gals will be flocking to see this movie, so there shouldn’t be any problem.

Though just to make sure, Disney is pounding anything with a TV show on it with ads for The Avengers.

It stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye and Tim Hiddleston as Loki.

The movie is even tracking higher than The Hunger Games was at this stage, before it’s theatrical premiere.

Marketing research is showing that awareness is surging with males but that more women are interested in this movie, The Avengers, than they were in The Dark Knight.  Which makes sense… a ton more eye candy for the ladies.

Now, if they were to only have kept the Black Widow’s hair longer, I’d be totally approving.

The Avengers opens in the hyper-priced overseas market on April 27th, and May 4th in the U.S..

I hear ya Paul! Unfortunately, I must suffer the trailers due to my chosen hobby! Ug… but I’ve learned how to appreciate the films better for it… and I’ve also learned that most trailers only deal with the opening story pieces of a movie… so it ain’t all bad… but still, I hear you. I used to be the guy that avoided all marketing like the trailers. Sigh.

Myself and the designer in our office have already told the company we are taking off on that Friday to go watch it in the afternoon.

I am trying hard not to look at too many trailers or ads before it opens.
