Watching The Bachelor finale for 2010, I’ve added some thoughts to the day! We know where it was headed, as spoiled months back by some insiders, but here we go.
As The Bachelor goes on, Tenley is loved by Jake’s family, while he needs to try and convince his family to like Vienna.
Their first impressions are that of being abrasive, but they see that Vienna see’s Jake for who he is. It’s amazing that everyone that talks to Vienna ends up feeling like they owe her an apology.
Most of the episode after the parent-grilling session is last date time with the girls in bikini’s, or skin-time on TV, for ABC. We watch the girls talk about the rest of their lives with Jake.
Jake is visited by “The Ring Guy” and Jake says he still doesn’t know.
He sees’ the glue to a family that Tenley would bring, while Vienna brings love and excitement to the picture and yet Jake keeps focusing on the horse-play and robustness of Vienna. Those are NOT long-term qualities in my opinion.
When Tenley shows up, Jake starts with “Um.” Before he gets too far into his denial, she knows what’s coming, and yet, he still says he loves her and that she’s perfect, but… It’s heart-breaking to see how much Tenley is starting to break apart inside, and she proves herself strong enough to accept it graciously, as graciously as possible, in her shoes. He seems to be losing tears also. It’s like there’s something inside him that is trying to scream logic at him from inside, but he keeps saying things that will confuse and hurt Tenley.
Before she disappears from sight, Tenley looks over her shoulder at Jake for one last look.
When Vienna showed up, he messed with her head by giving her the promise ring back, and she started freaking out. Excellent! But then he fessed his love to her. He asked her to marry him. We then got a sound-track background of On The Wings of Love. Do you remember the Monty Python scene where the big man had too much to eat and kept puking? Yea, we got buckets here.
The Twitter-verse erupted in complete disbelief with Jake’s choice.
The tweets ranged from “Jake you’re an idiot.“, “…you just made the biggest mistake of your life.“ To adding the 18th definition to the Urban Dictionary for DOOFUS with Jakes name. (It has 17 definitions right now.) (These were popping up in the Google search results and I didn’t catch the proper authors… sorry gang.)
The world, as a whole, would seem to believe that Jake Pavelka chose the wrong woman for all the wrong reasons. I’m one of those folks.
After The Rose:
Jake says he made the perfect choice for himself, so we have to go with that. Chris touched on the tabloids and Vienna said the tabloids are fabricated bits. So they’re weathering the media storm.
And the new Bachelorette? Ali of course.
That’s all I’ve got for ya gang!

Jake, you are The Biggest Jerk EVER!! I’m just so dissapointed.
You’re an idiot for criticizing him for his decision. Passion is key to any relationship – it’s that ever important pull that keeps the 2 people cohesive, keeps the love alive. It lets you miss him/her, it lets you crave each other, long for one another. With Tenly, there was obviously no passion, no longing….Jake & Vienna are obviously in total love. All the negative critics sound like narrow minded, bitter hags.
Jake and Vienna SO love! I trust Jake and Jakes family as far as having insight into Vienna. His parents are no pushovers and would never have given their blessing if they didn’t know in their hearts that Vienna was the right one for their son. I believe she is a wonderful person who is geuinely in love with Jake. Time to give this girl a break. I agree with Maria, the critics do sound like narrow minded bitter hags, especially if they are still at it after seeing Jake and Vienna together last night. I love Vienna and Jake together and wish them all the best!
No one liked Vienna for a reason! i think it was an insult to most of the women in the house ali was right when she said if Jake wants Vienna than I am not the one for him! i dont think anyone was jealous of Vienna, asside ftom the fact that vienna is not an attractive women worse than that it was her annoying blunt and immature behavior! yes Jake is an idiot he liked the girl no one liked, sure makes a person wonder, I now think Tenly was better off. maybe he is not the great catch after all! he chose the opposite of what he said he wanted in a person. What a fake.
