The other day I was totally lost trying to find a service provider that I could feel comfortable calling and using. I needed a decent product review of sorts!
When you’re new to an area and don’t know who you can trust, if there are service providers covered by Consumer Reports, you’re good to go. But if not, then what?
In the Bay Area, a peer turned me on to Consumer’s Checkbook. It’s a nonprofit consumer information and service resournce and it’s a great one.
They cover the Boston Area · Chicago Area · Delaware Valley Area · Puget Sound Area · San Francisco Bay Area · Twin Cities Area · Washington DC Areas.
They break down reviews by either cost, service quality and / or both. And they tell you how many people rated different categories so you can get a bit more of a comfort zone.
So if you’re new to any of the above mentioned regions, you do have a resource available to you when you need almost anything… auto mechanics, home appliance repairs, and various many other categories.
Checkbook. – Now ya know!
