NBCs The Cape with David Lyons and Summer Glau

NBC has a midseason drama lined up for us called The Cape.  It stars David Lyons (Yes, Dr. Simon Brenner from ER; Eat Pray Love) along with a favorite of many, Summer Glau.  Though Izabella Miko (Clash of the Titans, Coyote Ugly) was first only in the premiere, it seems that now she will be showing up for a five-episode arc, playing her skilled, alluring circus performer role.

The Cape is about a cop who becomes a masked here after finding himself framed for a crime.  Summer Glau plays a blogger who eventually gets involved in the cop’s plight.

I like these kind of shows… when they hang on to some semblance of reality or such.  It has the family connection and the angst.  It has Glau, though I’m not seeing any butt-kicking from her, but that’s fine.  It will be nice to see her doing something different.  I enjoyed Lyons role when he was on ER, but is this role going to bring out more of what he has as an actor?  Hope so.  It will be good to see him again.

But while we’re on the subject of Summer Glau, she has signed on to guest star in the Zachary Levi starrer, Chuck.  She’s slated to play the Buy More’s undercover agent in the eighth episode.

Now, we just have to see if Chuck will survive the usual ratings struggle and make it to an eight episode on the tube.

It is so wonderful to see Izabella Miko on this show, she is so talented. I can’t wait to see her character. She was wonderful in that movie Bye Bye Blackbird, where she did trapeze. I heard she did that all herself. Thats what I call talent. Hope to see that in the cape.

Congrats Izabella!
