Dale Earnhardt Jr. is not stupid, or he has fantastic counseling from his inner circle.
Whether you believe in his driving abilities or not, it still take a lot to even be above mediocre in the ranks of NASCAR Cup drivers. Add to that working out of a new team after his “parent” company dissed his offer of majority ownership (How’s that working out Teresa?), Dale Earnhardt Jr. has a lot to deal with.
So I was cruising around the Internet I cam across an interesting website. That website for Glacial Bear Racing is now defunct, but when it was around, I came across that it was backed by DEJ Realty. DEJ? Let me show you a clue on whose company that might be:
Well, at least he’s consistent in his logo creation!
From what I understand, DEJ Realty was created to deal with his own real estate transactions. It was founded in early 2007 and operates out of the JR Motorsports complex in Mooresville, NC.
But as you may or may not know, it does not end there. Dale Jr. got some notoriety when he opened up a new business last year in March of 2008 called Whisky River.
(Update: He now has two locations)
The Whisky River watering hole. Interesting, they have a sign up for the Boots and Bikini’s contest. Whiskey River is located at 210 East Trade Street, Suite A-208, Charlotte, NC.
Of course, there’s the Dale Earnhardt Jr racetrack, called Alabama Motorsports Park. (AMP… huh.) AMP is run or owned by Gulf Coast Entertainment, LLC. GCE, LLC is also buying Memphis Motorsports Park, so one more track is added to the portfolio.
If you remember, there was a show, I believe on ESPN called Shifting Gears. It chronicled the transition that Dale Jr. made going from DEI to Hendrick. (How’d that work out Teresa?) And in case you did not know:
Hammerhead Entertainment production company is another Dale Earnhardt Jr entity. The site says:
“Hammerhead Entertainment has produced everything from major television commercials to nationally broadcast programming. Some of its work includes Dale Jr.’s Unrestricted, Shifting Gears and Back in the Day. ABC, Direct TV, ESPN, FOX and NBC are just some of the stations that have showcased its handiwork.”
The home page has a National Guard ad and other projects of theirs are playing on the front page, so I suspect that’s one of their products too.
Now Jr Motorsports had merged in 2007 with Hendricks Nationwide side of the business, so beware.
Too Busy To Drive?
Did I forget anything? Oh, wait… There’s the website / company that ties it all together. It’s DaleJr.com and you can pretty much find anything and everything about him, his family and his companies there.
Come on people! how can we say Dale Earnhardt Jr is too distracted running other businesses to drive successfully!
