The Hazard with Blue U.S. Postal Collection Boxes

US Postal BoxHere’s a new twist on mail fraud.  Crooks are now starting to use that sticky flypaper you can buy at hardware stores to steal mail from mail boxes.  Can you believe that crap?  Cripes, people are willing to stoop pretty low these days.

They are dipping the paper into the blue collection boxes and snagging whatever they get.  Odds are these days that there’s mula of some sort in the envelopes.  Especially this time year, as tax season is warming up.

The Post Office is retrofitting their collection boxes to prevent this stupidity.  In the mean time, I’d like to suggest NOT using those blue boxes if it’s after the last pickup time.  It’s good for financial and personal security.

In fact, if you do send out financial items in the mail, maybe consider the Post Office Lobby drop slot.  Me, I just fired off my taxes by certified mail to my guy!
