The Parents Television Council Doesn’t Like ‘The Playboy Club’ Go Figure.

Brusimm Cinema Static TV NewsThe Parents Television Council says that NBC’s The Playboy Club, the show about the 60’s era and that particular organization, is pushing an anti-family agenda and is degrading.

In other words, something that actually really existed, was bad for us.  Back then, or now, or sometime.  Not sure.  I’m confused.

This new show from NBC has never even caused a blip on my radar, except to annoy me that it exists.  Apparently several advertisers have pulled out of the show and the Parents Television Council is asking that more advertisers pull out.

Then again, ratings have dropped 20% since it’s premiere episode.  (I’m lumping this in with Pan Am and Charlie’s Angels, just to name a few new shows.)

For now, the PTC pushes it’s moral standings on others, but I think they can trust in the system this one time because the TV ratings may be saying more than anything the PTC will ever say.

At least if we can judge from the the ratings.  We’ll see how it goes.

Wait! Paul? An Off-Button??? Where’s that? Huh.
And yes, I tend to mute ads too. And now-a-days, with my VoD on COMCAST, Fox and ABC lock out the FF button, but they can’t control my mute button!

As a parent I am thinking that the PTC should run some training videos..
Parents- This is the off button for your TV..This is how you unplug it.. This is how you block channels.

If I don’t want my kids to watch something I turn it off, lucky enough I am the PARENT so I am in charge of my TV..

There is no rule that says the kids have to be allowed to watch anything. I was a bit shocked to hear a eight year old say he had been watching a and a half men..Not something I would want my kids watching when they are eight.

Unless they have full on nudity on the playboy show (if they do let me know!) I can not see it being worse than 2 and a half men.

I seem to be turning off ads more and more these days, I dont mind if she sees a car ad, but then suddenly we have an advert for a horror film and they are scary.
