The Seamstress movie on the Syfy Channel

When I turned on The Seamstress on the Syfy Channel, I wasn’t expecting much. Lance Henriksen, who stars in various Syfy movies these days, led the cast as Sheriff Virgil Logan.

As the credits rolled, I started making a bit of fun at the last names… See, Kopp, Mutch, Stroh. Hell, there was even an actor named James Kirk. My genres were starting to meld before I even started this TV review.

The movie started out describing the background of how The Seamstress came to be. The Seamstress was brought into existence via a curse that was set up a group of vigilantes some years ago.

As the movie developed the background I thought that the Syfy Channel had a winner of sorts. That was a very short lived premise.

The story was dis-jointed at best. Characters made story connections out of thin air and there was little attempt at true cohesion of the film, except to force the story along to the points that needed to be made to get the movie to different points.

If you see it in your TV schedule, I wouldn’t worry about scheduling your time around it. Over on IMDb, it has a user rating of 3.7 out of 10. I have to concur with that. In fact, the best part of the movie, is the poster I led this review with.
