The Vampire Diaries season 3

With this new (third) season premiere of The Vampire Diaries, Stephan (Paul Wesley) is either totally gone to the dark side, or has to play it up to Klaus (Joseph Morgan) as he starts to commit his old style killings as The Ripper… and I love that touch where he puts his victims back together.

But as Stephan needs to keep his promise to Klaus, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) are trying to locate Stephan via the path of destruction he’s leaving.  (Klaus and Stefan are looking for a werewolf named Ray Sutton)  Klaus seems aware of Damon’s tracking their moves and sends a warning message via Stephan to Damon, via the death of Stephan’s human “distraction” of a lover.  Ouch.

I can’t tell if this is a ruse or if Stephan has truly turned.  He is high on real blood, so I’m leaning towards this being a serious maneuver.

Jeremy is seeing ghosts.  Oh great. So much for being brought back to life with no catches!

The only other eye-catching move that took place during the season premiere of The Vampire Diaries was Caroline’s man, or maybe I should say, male problems.  Two many males, not enough time?  Heart?  Mind set on which one? Well, after some quality sack time with Tyler, she finds herself darted by Carol Lockwood.

Now what???

A Cinema Static Observation of The Vampire Diaries:

Was it me, or did this season premiere episode feel a bit detached?  Or slow?  I can’t quite put my finger on it, but something felt different about it.

(Yep, this is a late entry.  But it’s here now!)
