TV and Movie news and notes

We learn when the new season of Orange is the New Black is returning, the story timeline with Fear the Walking Dead spin-off series, a creepy new chapter in an X-Files story, a new clip for Ant-Man, How DC and WB are supporting their genre movies and Johnny Depp’s dog whoas!

'Orange Is the New Black' web series review

Netflix released a quickie press release to my inbox reminding me and now you, that Orange is the New Black’s third season will be premiering on Friday, June 12th, 2015!

In case you were wondering about the new Walking Dead series, Fear the Walking Dead, and if its timeline will match up or not to the original show, don’t worry.

The original kicked in its story line a few months after the outbreak. Or deadbreak.

Fear the Walking Dead starts when the epidemic starts, and creator Robert Kirkman says that at some point, the timeline between the two stories will align.

He just did not say when. {EW}

Do you remember the X-Files episode where Mulder and Scully encounter the Peacocks, a family of inbreds? In this episode they also encounter a Sheriff Andy Taylor?  It was creepy how they kept mom around and such. The episode was titled “Home.”

In the upcoming reboot/continuation of the Xfiles, there’s rumor or hard conjecture that we may see more of the Peacocks!

The second episode of the new show will be titled “Home Again” and will be written by Glen Morgan, who helped co-pen that first episode so many years ago, back in 1996. People are thinking we’re picking up where the first story left off! I mean, if you recall, the Peacocks shoved their mom in the trunk of their car and drove off, scott free. { TVLine }

I guess while filming a movie in Australia, Johnny Depp circumvented proper procedure and had his dogs flown in to him. You know how actors and their support staff are. When an actor wants something, they don’t care how they get it and their staff gets it for them. Kind of like when some actors die of bad drug concoctions or overdoses… people just get them what the want.

But when the Agriculture Minister of Australia found out that Depp snuck his dogs in around their quarantine procedures, the minister said that Depp had 7 hours to get his dogs out of his country or have them euthanized.

Depp got his dogs out of the country but still faces the potential of up to ten years in prison or a jail fine of nearly $300,000, plus the pilot who transported the dogs could be looking at two years in jail for his part in this process.

To be honest, what actor ever goes to jail for things they do? Too few. And now many spend time in jail that is not more than a token week? Not enough. So I would not be too worried about Depp serving time.

And this threat on his pilot, is something I like. This makes the pandering staff of the acting elite think twice about catering to their below board requests! { ARS }

If there are any fans of Disney Playmation out there, they’ve released a new “trailer” for their new tech, and it involves, of course, Marvel and Star Wars characters!

Palymation is a

“… system of toys and wearables uses smart technology to inspire kids to run around and use their imaginations, as they become the hero or heroine of stories from across The Walt Disney Company.”

There’s much more over at CBN.

Unlike how Marvel IS NOT supporting the Fox films, X-Men and Fantastic Four with store shelf products, WB and DC is supporting the crap out of their upcoming movies with planned merchandise for Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad, many of their DC Super hero Girls, and more.
