Transformers: Dark of the Moon

-

This week for Transformers 3 news, we’ve found movie logos, movie posters, videos, bad guy teasers and prequel comics!  Check it out:

I’ve been collecting links all week so I can spit out one semi-decent quality bit rather than chasing my own tail with every bit of news.  That can end up driving a single-person staffed site rather daffy!  First up is what the  Transformers 3 promo logo, Transformers: Dark of the Moon movie promo logo looks like, as it has been presented at the TransformersMovie website.  Along with all the Entertainment Tonight pieces hitting the web, we would seem to know for a fact that the title of the movie, as people have been guessing, is what we’ve been calling it now for a few weeks.   Logo looks great, even if it does clash with Brusimm’s background color scheme!

Clicking on it will show the original sized image.

The movie will star Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Patrick Dempsey, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Alan TudykJohn Malkovich will play Sam’s boss, John Turturro as agent Simmons.

Michael Bay directs.

Autobot Movie Voices:

-

Hugo Weaving is returning to voice Megatron, Frank Welker to voice Soundwave, Peter Cullen voicing Optimus Prime*, James Avery as Silverbolt, Robert Foxworth voices Ratchet, Charlie Andler is Starscream, Joss Harnell voices Ironhide and (SPOILER?) Corey Burton voicing Shockwave.

*I was watching one of the extras on the DVD package from Transformers 2 and to watch Peter Cullen speak the lines and to realize just how little work was done to transform his voice into Optimus Prime was a chilling (in a good way) site to see.

Who here would love to hear Megatron question “Mr. Anderson’s” resolve to fight the system?

Transformers Promo Poster Spotted

-

The next bit of news is what would appear to be a promo art poster for Transformers: Dark of the Moon that was seen in a hotel lobby outside a conference room.  (I find it funny, that as I rotated the original picture to level the image, one of the options I used in PS Elements is “transform.”)  As you can see and many have surmised, the evil bad guy (Decepticon) in this upcoming movie is the franchise-fan favorite, Shockwave.

Shockwave In Prequel Comic:

-

As with the other Transformer movies, IDW comics is releasing story prequel titles to give us even more background heading into the third movie…  that is if you’re a comic reader.  Check out the “classified” outline of Shockwave in the promo image for the title, Transformers: Rising Storm:

Entertainment Tonight Piece:

-

Next on this slate of Transformers news is the Entertainment Tonight bit that is a sub-seven-minute video and we see mostly a lot of chatting but a bit of info.  It’s different than the other video that showed up earlier in the week.  That one didn’t really feel like a pay-out for me.

Having learned from when Megan Fox mouthed off, Shia was a good company man and said that Transformers 3 “is the best Transformers movie yet.”  He talks about the emotional content that will be there for Sam, though oddly, he keeps looking down as if reciting lines.  (Maybe he’s reciting a summary from his script!)

In T3, Sam is a nationally decorated hero, Rosie lives with him, while Patrick Dempsey tries to make it a love-triangle.  Michael Bay also makes a quick note that while Avatar was shot in 3D with mostly blue-screen, Transformers 3 is being filmed in 3D out in the real world.  (Did Michael just subtly toss down a gauntlet?)  Bay goes no to note that this will be a good old fashioned espionage movie.

Right now, it looks like McDonalds will be releasing the official toys from the movie!  That’s it for now from my corner of the world…  As you can see from the promo art above, Transformers: Dark of the Moon hits 2D and 3D screens in the U.S on July 1st, 2011.

With Liam Neeson providing the voice of Shockwave, we might get confused with this Transformers villain and Aslan from The Chronicles of Narnia….

Hey bud, Liam Neesom isn’t in Transformers… he provides voice work for The Chronicles of Narnia & The Wildest Dream. It’s Corey Burton who provides the voice of Shockwave!
