Treme from HBO

What is Treme, offered up by HBO all about? Treme takes place in the fall of 2005, a mere 3 months after Hurricane Katrina had left its mark on New Orleans!

Created by David Simon (The Wire, Generation Kill) & Eric Overmyer (Law & Order), they look at the residents of New Orleans and encompass many different types of citizens from musicians, chefs, Mardi Gras Indians, and ordinary citizens as they work to rebuild their lives after the storm.

HBO has a lot of faith in the show and ordered up a 10 episode season, of which an 80-minute pilot is included.

Treme stars Khandi Alexander (CSI:Miami’s Dr. Alexx Woods!!! Yea!), Rob Brown, Kim Dickens (Friday Night Lights, The Blind Side) John Goodman (The Princess and the Frog), Melissa Leo, Clarke Peters (Marley and Me), Wendell Pierce (The Wire) & Steve Zahn (Diary of a Wimpy Kid, A Perfect Getaway) make up some of the cast.

According to Variety, Treme is slow moving, but very rewarding if you can make as far as the 3rd episode.

Treme premieres on HBO on Sunday, April 11th, 2010. Check out the promo from HBO below:
