I’m starting to really appreciate Garret Dillahunt.
The man might have the same voice in different roles. A rather distinct and unique voice, but he still manages to pull off different guest roles and characters in a way that really makes me appreciate his talent and how he applies it.
Last night I watched him play a desperate, small minded player named Eric Matheson, who forces his way by gun point into the Lightman Group, on the episode called “Honey” on Lie to me.
It was Eric’s desperate measure, in hopes of being absolved of what looks like the murder of his wife, and his having done it.
I don’t really watch Lie To Me (Starring Tim Roth, Kelli Williams, Monica Raymund, Brendan Hines and Mekhi Phifer). The principles behind body language come from watching and learning an individuals behavioral patterns and that doesn’t come from the first impression of a person. So I’m not drawn in.
Yet when Dillahunt busted into the offices of the Lightman Group offices, for the first time, I was riveted to the show. I Could Not Turn The Station.
I think that might make me a true Dillahunt fan? So be it, I’m fine with that.
I’m actually starting to compare Garret to Alex O’Loughlin. They’re different and yet, they have the similar ability to portray completely different characterizations in what feels like a successful manner.
Even if you’re not a fan of Lie To Me, I think it would be worth looking up the episode ‘Honey.’ Garret Dillahunt made it a great episode, or the mixture of Garret into the Lie to Me franchise came out a winner.
Either way, awesome episode.
