This week starts up the mid-season TV schedule where shows have taken some breaks to give the holiday fare room to benefit.  Now our favorites like Castle, Hawaii Five-0, Parenthood, Detroit 187 & Caprica are returning!  I thought you’d like to have this, the first first a few reminders, what TV series are either kicking it back in gear, starting new, or ending so that you don’t miss the mid-season premieres, if indeed you enjoy sitting down to live TV telecasts!

First up,

Monday Night TV Premieres, 1/3/11:

*Seriously, ABC needs to revisit this idea when they had so few applicants that they had to scrape the bottom of the barrel for Brad Womack.  (Yea, but how do I really feel?)

  • Hawaii Five-0
  • How I Met Your Mother
  • Mike & Molly
  • Rules Of Engagement
  • Two And A Half Men

Tuesday Night TV Premieres 1/4/11:

  • The Biggest Loser
  • Parenthood

  • Detroit 187
  • No Ordinary Family
  • V

  • Live To Dance

  • Southland

*Huge note: The finale episodes of Caprica are airing all at once on Tuesday night where the Syfy Channel is soothing the fans but dumping them all in one fell swoop, one night, end.  Never mind that it’s up against some huge shows on the other networks tonight.  Sigh.  Is it me or do you feel betrayed by this move?  It’s a tough one to call, that’s for sure.

These shows already premiered on Sunday (last night), Jan 2nd, 2011, but in case you didn’t catch that:

  • America’s Funniest Home Videos
  • Brothers & Sisters
  • CSI: Miami*
  • Desperate Housewives
  • Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
  • Undercover Boss

*I have an odd feeling CBS is trying to oust CSI: Miami!  First they move it to Sunday nights, then the new episodes are airing at 8 pm, up against the TV ratings juggernaut, Sunday Night Football.  Is it just me or does something seem up?  I hope not!

Source for the above list is my fairly comprehensive listing of 2011 mid-season TV series premieres under Cinema Static on  I’ll have more specific listings for upcoming days/dates coming soon so stay tuned gang.

Jeeze Paul!!! Ya scared me… your comment showed up so fast I started looking around the room for you here! LOL.

I’m betting it will show up on line, like on Xfinity.TV and possibly Hulu… but I’m not holding my breath there….

What you’re pointing out is why I feel betrayed. They cut it out from under the fan then jam it all down our throats like the vegetables we never wanted to eat as a kid…

There is no way i can sit through 5 hours of Caprica, family, kids etc etc

Could they not have split it up somehow? even doing one each night for a week.

I wonder if they will ever reshow it or do i need to wait for it to be on netflix..
A tv series should not cause me this kind of
