Today I’ve got some TV news bits about Syfy‘s Merlin, Mark Valley casting news, The Vampire Dairies casting bits, ABC’s Rookie Blue, MTV’s Teen Wolf, Glee, and the sad news regarding Men of a Certain Age. Scroll on through to your favorite bit to see what’s up…
Syfy renewed Merlin for a fourth season! Colin Morgan, Bradley James, Angel Coulby, Katie McGrath, Anthony Head, Richard Wilson and John Hurt are returning with the fourth season.
New cast will include Nathaniel Parker and guest stars Gemma Jones and Phil Davis.
The third season of Merlin averaged 1.9 million viewers, which was 12% increase from the season before.
Mark Valley Lands Role in Harry’s Law
Mark Valley fans can rejoice once again. Though all his fans were sad to see Human Target go by the wayside, Valley is joining Harry’s Law as a regular cast member in the second season of the series.
Karen Olivio is also joining the cast.
The Vampire Diaries Cast News
Did you catch the news that David Gallagher from 7th Heaven, is joining The Vampire Diairies this next upcoming season? Yep, it’s true. Well, he’ll be in the first two episodes at least.
Gallagher will be playing a werewolf named Ray Sutton who has to deal with Klaus.
The Vampire Diaries returns to your TV set with new episodes for a 3rd season, starting September 15th.
Rookie Blue Renewed
ABC’s Rookie Blue just found itself renewed for a third season, which is already under development. It’s doing well in it’s night/time slot and showing 8% increase in viewership from the previous season.
It stars Missy Peregrym, Gregory Smith, Charlotte Sullivan and Enuka Okuma and in my humble opinion, is a good watch.
Check it out sometime… it’s not bad.
Teen Wolf Renewed
MTV’s Teen Wolf, starring Tyler Posey, was renewed for a 2nd season recently. The 2nd season of this scripted drama will have 12 episodes.
The show premiered to 2.1 million curious viewers and overall, averaged around 1.7 million viewers.
Juuust in case you didn’t know, and juuust in case you care… Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer will be leaving Glee… or to be more to the point, graduating from McKinley High , leaving the Glee club there behind.
Men of a Certain Age Dumped
On another sad note, TNT dumped Men of a Certain Age… it had a 2 season run and it’s last season averaged 2.7M viewers per episode. It starred Ray Romano, Mike Royce, Scott Bakula and Andre Braugher.
TNT said that the audience didn’t build well enough to retain the show in the schedule.
