The ratings for the Alex O’Loughlin medical drams, Three Rivers, hasn’t been looking too good. In fact the numbers dropped from the premiere to the 2nd episode.
I’d like to think that the debacle where CBS swapped episodes has something to do with this, but I’m not sure.
With CBS being quick to slice the excess when shows perform poorly, and TV By The Numbers expects the show to get the axe anytime soon.
That’s a bummer, but to be a bit realistic, I didn’t see anything coming from Alex that really said WOW to me, in the acting department.
The creators of Three Rivers gave him a role that didn’t ask for him to show what he can really do, and that pissed me off. (Sorry…) because he can deliver incredible performances.
Check out TV By The Numbers forthe theory on where Three Rivers is going.

Firstly, why did CBS swap episodes. That really killed me. If someone watches a new show and isn’t all that keen on the first episode, chances are they will move on. I agree with you about Alex 150%. He is a great actor and can deliver great performances. I am watching show because of him, but…….
Three Rivers is a great show, unique and refreshing, dealing with organ transplantation, which has never been attempted before on any network. Three Rivers and its talented actors simply need more time to tell their riveting, complex, exciting and compassionate stories.
I love that angle that you bring up William, about THREE RIVERS, but sadly, so many just see it as “just another medical drama” that it doesn’t register with them what the actual issues are being addresses as.
I do hope, with everyone, that the show is given more time to develop and the writers and actors can “find their feet,” so to speak and catch the rest of the viewers attention.
Alex O’Loughlin is a great and talented actor. I am concerned about the rating of Three Rivers. Alex so deserves a great role fit to his skills
Three Rivers is the first medical drama I have given a chance in many years. It has a fresh look at a message that really should get out to the general public….ORGAN DONATION The actors are all very good at what they do – there seems to be some chemistry even with the network crazily switching the show order. Women are the watchers of most medical shows and the network placed it in the worst time slot available – up against major league sports – 2 networks football nights and also major league baseball playoffs – Hopefully the big wigs will leave it to gain some viewers – or find it a better slot. This show deserves a chance!
I would hate to see this show get canceled. It brings a great message and Alex O’Loughlin. What more could you want?
I think Three Rivers is a great show and deserves a chance for the characters and the storylines to develop. All this negativity is not helping either. I am hoping that this show picks up in the ratings and does well. i have waited too too long to see Alex O’Loughlin on my TV and I am not ready to give him up!
Plus, the story that they tell – transplantation – is incredible. A family member had a lung transplant 2.5 yrs ago, and i think more people in this country need to know how important this is as a last chance for someone who is gravely ill to survive.
The show should be put out of its misery quickly. It is so depressing. Organ donation is a wonderful cause, but people don’t want to see some new young staff member harrass a young woman to give up her father’s heart. The wobbling camera that pans between person to person is like my grandmother is holding the camera. What’s witht he colorful slide show between commercial breaks. This show was bad from the concept and the ratings just proved it. Even the Moonlight fans aren’t watching. Nina Tassler was wrong when she said the fans were Alex centric and would watch him in whatever he did. Wrong. Put him in something good and we will watch. Better yet, since vampire shows are so hot right now and cbs all but came out and said what a huge mistake cancelling was, someone should just bring it back. It already has an established audience that grows daily thanks to the syfy airings and its release on dvd. End Alex’s embarassment quickly.
From your fingertips to the eyes of the networks! OF COURSE they thought we would all come back if they just stuck Alex O’Loughlin in any show! HOWEVER, my television screen has not sat on cbs since the credits rolled! I refuse to give them ANY support of mine when they think so little of their viewers. I will not watch cbs or anything on it till Moonlight returns! VSRRR!!!
