Ah, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Phase One blu-ray box set finally hit shelves this week. In it are all the movies that built up to, and including, The Avengers, helmed by Joss Whedon.
They’ve taken the genre of superhero movies to an entirely new level, to the point of these kinds of movies defining movie careers for the cast. Additionally, this process of releasing a movie that has teasers for the next title or chapter of characters in the end-credits is fairly brilliant. And anyone else who dares try it, will of course, be instantly compared to the Marvel Universe franchise, who started it.
In fact the Marvel/Disney world of movies is doing so well, that it seems to have thrown Warner Bros. for a loop and off-track and messed with their Justice League movie. And there’s nothing they can do about it. The gauntlet has been tossed. It’s like the tossed the Infinity Gauntlet down. (Did you catch that bad boy in Odin’s vault in Thor?)
Of course, what would a decent movie collection be if it didn’t hint or tease at the next, upcoming phase of this movie universe. It’s consistent with their practices to date.
In this cinematic adventure set, there’s a teaser trailer making the rounds online (for now) that talks about the movies that made this boxed set what it is, and teases at upcoming projects.
We see snippets of film and concept art from Iron Man 3, Thor 2 (Thor: The Dark World), Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America 2 (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) and more.
We listen to a few moments of chat from Kevin Feige, Robert Downey Jr., Ben Kingsley, Stephen Broussard, Shane Black, Joss Whedon and a few others.
Tony Stark: “I hope I can protect the one thing I can’t live without.”
(Bruce: Um, what’s that Tony? Your armor?)

“Marvel has a rapture of things coming.”
I thought it was pretty cool, seeing these small teasers.
