Bones, premiered on September 13, 2005. Back then, it starred the fresh faces of David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel, who came from fascinating origins to say the least.
Before landing the role of Temperance Brennan in Bones, Deschanel had a few appearances in Crossing Jordan, Providence, Law & Order: SVU and Rose Red. If you have a very keen eye, you might remember her bit part as a receptionist in Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 or the Eric Kripke written Boogeyman from 2005.
As far as Boreanaz is concerned, any faithful, long-term fans of Joss Whedon knows that before landing his role of Seeley Booth, he played the vampire Angel in Whedon’s TV series’, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the spinoff, Angel.
The chances to cast these two were taken with these relative newbies back in 2005 and who knew? But the chemistry and magic that these two and the supporting cast of John Francis Daley, Michaela Conlin, Tamara Taylor, and Tj Thyne created in Bones was something the TV fans liked and the rest is history.
Now, nine seasons later, it’s still going strong. Season eight had between seven and nine million viewers per episode. So the show is still going strong, with an average of 7.9 million viewers.
The fans of Bones are die-hard franchise followers. And Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is doing something pretty cool for those fans.
They’ve started a contest called Bare Bones: Total Fandom-onium!
Bare Bones: Total Fandom-onium! is a great contest where fans can submit questions via either Facebook or Twitter to the cast and crew of the series.
You need to come up with good questions because the best questions will be selected by producers and then included on the “Bones” Season Eight DVD that will be released later this fall.
