Today WB made the announcement on their DC Comics-based film schedule, including the year and in some cases, casting for the films.

— Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
— Suicide Squad (2016)
— Wonder Woman, starring Gal Gaddot (2017)
— Justice League Part One (2017)
— The Flash, starring Ezra Miller (2018)
— Aquaman starring Jason Momoa (2018)
— Shazam, Dwayne Johnson plays Black Adam. (2019)
— Justice League Part Two (2019). Directed by Zack Snyder.
— Cyborg starring Ray Fisher (2020)
— Green Lantern (2020)

Also in the announcement, they said they’re working on another
— Superman solo film starring Henry Cavill
— Batman solo film starring Ben Affleck.

Have you noticed in a few cases, they have casting info along with the movies.  The speculation is that we may see these actors in these roles long before their solo movies come out.

So for instance we might see Ezra Miller in the first Justice League movie or even possibly in BvS or Suicide Squad. The same can be said of Ray Fisher.  Being cast this early for a movie slated to come out six years from now does seem a bit crazy, trusting or hopeful!

But there it is.

over the last 40 years, we’ve only seen Superman, Batman, Catwoman and Steel in movies. And like the superhero genre of then, the productions were not taken seriously enough and they floundered into history.  Besides, how many times can we see the origins of Superman and Batman? And what’s up with Shazam and Cyborg getting their own stories?

What also has me wondering is their previous… or a previous rumor that WB has decreed that all the comic title properties be serious movies rather than fun, glib filled films like Marvel puts out.

They haven’t floundered from the serious tone of The Dark Knight or Man of Steel, but I have to wonder if they could have done better with it?

Plus The Flash and Green Lantern are cocky, sarcastic kinds of characters. How’s that going to work out with that creed, if indeed, it is true.

But for now…
